You have to manually edit the TKGAMESETTINGS.MXML file. What are you trying to do?

You can have the same keys bound to buttons; the game has a "mode dependent" type attempt (ship, on foot, etc.). The key binding management is horrendous in the game.

I wanted to bind my mouse button 5 to weapon mode swap.

Yeah, I don't have good news. the KeyG is hidden in the game files and hard-coded to switch the main weapon. I hate NMS for not allowing us to edit ... keybindings.

I believe the key command is G (default) can you bind your mouse button to G in the mouse software? Changing the mouse button to send a "G" instead of mouse5 or whatever, might be the way to go.

in this day and age, it's actually quite appalling that they don't let us fix their horrible control scheme with proper access to key bindings. The fact that you have to cycle through the whole array of multi-tool options instead of being able to flick forward OR backward is just ridiculous. If 'G' equips next tool in list, then maybe 'F' should do previous tool in list or something right? but no, something like a "previous tool" keybind is missing completely... it drives me nuts.

Yeah i hope they look into that. You should be able to just mousewheel swap the multi-tool modes.
