Aside that, only speculations.
Dissonant / corrupted star systems maybe ?

"There's not much evidence, but it is pretty solid evidence"
Needs to make up his mind 😅
Building bases is one of my favourite things to do in NMS.
Just sayin HG, if you put out paid DLC for base parts, a large proportion of the player base would defo love that.
That sound likely too. Makes it easier to locate them. If that's the case, I wonder what they gonna do with the Echo locator mechanic and so on.
Perhaps the color might not indicate dissonant, but something entirely new to avoid conflicts with existing dissonant.
EDIT:
Actually, the only mechanic in conflict with existing dissonant, is the freighter battle. When you destroy the sentinel dreadnought, you get a reward with Echo Locator, to pinpoint Dissonant planets or system with one in the galaxy map. So, if HG is to turn purple systems into Dissonant ones, they got to change only that.
Simple scalable shapes like colorable plain boxes and panels makes a world difference. For now we have to rely on flat panels and tables lol. Even with those simple shapes it provides us a simple templating surface for objects to adjust and place on.
