Mystery Ship appearing in my list of ships AFTER I scrap one...

I was deleting a ship to make room for hunting down more. I did that and then ported back to my base. I decided to check my list of ships to see if I would scrap another one..and this Mystery ship named Aegis of the Void showed up in the spot of the ship I just scrapped. So I went back to the station and scrapped it....and it showed back up when I reloaded my game. Does anyone know how I can stop this from happening I would like to scrap a couple of more of My old ships to make some room for new ones. But I would like to fix this mystery ship problem first. Thank you in advance for any good advice.

if you have MP enabled, try turning it off and then scrap the ship again... might be a MP defect... if it still occurs, i would report it on the zendesk...

I did no have have MP enabled when doing this. It still happens , I guess I will have to report it as an issue. Thank you very much for your advice..

wait a few seconds after scraping before switching to another ship if you switch to fast you might keep the ship you scraped of it shows as Aegis of the Void. plus it sometimes just happens i just get it as well tell it's fixed just use Aegis of the Void as a triad ship.

I have the same issue. I claimed a load of old Twitch ships in a new playthrough and every time I scrap them, they come back as titled The Aegis of the Void, but they are all different types of ship, so I now have about 8 of them. I just can't get rid of them. (And no, I don't have MP on either).

Same here. Started yesterday after the update. I scrapped 3 solar ships for parts, and one sentinal ship in one play session. I'm left with one "ghost" solar, and one sentinal in my ship listings. I just tried scrapping them again and they were gone, however, I just quit, and restarted the game, and their in my ship listing again, just no icon in the selection, as before. If I was to place a bet, i'd wager it has something to do with the new changes to solar ships, but I'm just guessing.

Yeah, I spent 2 hours trying different combinations of things to resolve this. I tried scrapping for parts instead of money but I get the same. I even scrapped one ship at a time, saved, and quit the game entirely but they just kept coming back.

The best workaround I've found so far is loading these duplicate/ghost ships up and trading them with NPCs. At least that way, I have ships all with different names rather than multiple ships of the same name.

Same issue here. Literally a new playthrough from 3 weeks ago, and I think the problem did start after scrapping a ship.

Free money i guess. Sometimes the icons are wrong for the ships as well, which is prolly related to the same thing.

Same thing is happening here with the same name, it gave me a ship I never had and one that I traded away.

Has anyone got a workaround for this? I’m going to hit my max ship limit soon and need to get rid of the spares I don’t want.

same issue here. To get round not being able to scrap my sentinel ships I tried to reset the ship inventory by buying random npcs ships but alas it didnt work. ships keep respawning after loading my save titled "Aegis of the void"-x8 ships with no inventory picture. p.s I started the same discussion in the bugs section of the forum.

Yea its still a thing, i have 2 which keep popping back up and 1 which cant be spawned anywhere, says its critically damaged so cant even sell it. The critically damaged is a twitch drop, just before my ship list bugged out I had a CTD and all the % core parts in the modification screen were unequipped. Not long after I started to get duplicates- Aegis of the Void which as mentioned here was also a twitch drop (from a long time ago i think, not the recent).
Its also happening with a Sentinel ship i got from a crash though this is keeping its original name, (easy money but it doesnt feel good earning it this way). I just want rid of them! I have 3 slots locked down.

I clicked on the link that peon wrote down , and this was a problem that has persisted for more than 4 years ago? I had no idea that this issue was as widespread and as old as it is. I mean I could start a new save but this bug might just happen again. Its hurts especially for players that have put in many hours like I have only for it to bork their game. I mean I could continue to play but it hurts knowing this crazy bug could happen again to anyone at any time. Also I have sent a report to Hello Games.

For me this started with trying to get twitch drops. I didn't get any of the drops, but then had 2 Aegis of the Void ships. They are both identical exotic ships and I've tried everything to get rid of them but nothing has works. Really frustrating.
Found records of this bug going back years.....a bit worrying.

The only workaround Ive actually found is I can keep and change ships whether you trade your ship in for another or add it to the collection for me they all show the right icon and ship name but as you start to salvage or destroy ships at the terminal they all come back for me after reloading meaning I stumbled on a money glitch that I never wanted. Stay away from dismantling ships and the ship names and icons seem to go back to normal with enough buying and trading for ships.
