Multiplayer good now?

Hey guys,

I regularly come back to check in with this game to see if one of the many cool looking updates they did finally made the Multiplayer a viable co-op experience.
When we tried a few years ago it felt like you are playing alongside each other not with each other. Can you complete quests together now, progress as a group, own and build stuff cooperatively etc. etc.?
This is the one update we were really waiting for in order to actually play.

So: Has one of the updates brought this in or do we still wait?

i mean there are the nexus missions but i know what you mean, and unfortunately (unless this update changed that; i havent had the heart to open it again) i dont think so

I can't even get it to connect to a friend. Added him and he doesn't show up in my No Mans Sky friend list... have tried so many combinations but no luck. Luck shouldn't be a factor for playing multi with a friend.

Make sure that you are both on the exact same version of the game. Is he on a console? The consoles don't always get an update on the same day as the PC does, that would certainly stop the connection.

I just updated and he just bought it so yes, they are the same version. Both on PC

You should probably just move on, unless they rework the game with central servers.

You should probably just move on, unless they rework the game with central servers.

Ah, what a shame. I feel like that is still a large untapped market for them that would make a lot of sense to go for but if it is still not there then I will check back some time next year.

I think they will focus on Light no fire to make the real MP experience.

Yes that one looks very cool but I think NMS could be amazing if only I could play it properly with my friends.
I just dont play any Singleplayer games ever, they bore me.
