Tried to start my saved game and it crashed, but no worries. I always start a new game after every update, just because I enjoy that part best.
So, started a new game, anticipating all the new loveliness, only to find things looking and running almost exactly the same.
Yes, the clouds look better. Yes, there's wibbly water now.
Um. That's it.
There might be more variety after playing through a few worlds, but all the animals I saw were ones I've seen before, and whilst there were a couple of new mineral formations there was nothing that made me sit up and take notice.
I'll wait until the expedition comes out and approach it again that way.
Everything renders better? No kidding, planets don't render at all.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3291349211 Runs smoother? Well, probably not for me. Flying in space and over planets now cuts and freezes every now and then, as before when flying in hyperspace.
Mine crashed first time, rebooted same save file all was good then did a quick save, maybe try you're save again.
Almost all mining bases are partly swallowed by terrain / environment. As if it's that hard to finally make the game recognize your built structures, to avoid that. Neverending story.
The mining bases i've checked so far, have no resouce spots anymore, what renders them completely useless.
There may be more, but thats what i found with a short run after the update.
So, they just messed up my ~700 hour save for no reason.
Similar experience to the OP I suppose. Perhaps its an issue with AMD?
Hello Games lost my loyalty with Atlas Rises... (because of how they dealt with save files and save files "upgrade")
Most likely mods are causing the issues. None of the other posters say if they play the game vanilla or use mods. I can imagine alot of people use mods, so that is probably the big solution to the mystery. After all, this happens with every game when they get updated. Some mods are broken and people have to wait till mod developers update them.
Vanilla, i've never had any mods in this game.
