They've ruined so many planets...
Did they really have to do such drastic changes? Funniest thing - some planets haven't even just got new additions, they have completely changed planet types. What was marsh planet is now a tropical planet. What was a tropical planet is now a marsh planet. What's most upsetting is we've probably lost some of the most beautiful and impressive planets, like this one:

this was my favorite planet. If you guys can find such a planet with sky looking like this and post its address I'd really appreciate it.

Yeah, that happens with universe resets. It's the nature of the beast when they want to update/add stuff to planetary environments. It's not the first time it's happened, and it probably won't be the last time it happens. And yes, this did need to happen, at least in my opinion. The game needed some freshening up with new things to see.

So, it's time to adapt and/or explore and find a new home. And, also, to endure lots and lots of whining on the forums. (I'm not saying that you're whining, just that there will be whining. So much whining. LOL )

You should know by now how this works. The minute you got in the game you should have expected some planets you liked to have changed drastically. All you had to do was not update, but you wanted the update and so you did.
lol, Steam doesn't really give a choice of updating or not. What are you talking about? It literally doesn't allow to laungh the game unless you've installed the latest update.
Also about expectations - a lot of people speculated that since Next there wouldn't be any dastic changes to the planets. Sure some weather effects, new animals, water and cloud changes, but not like this. Most of us expected the planets to remain the same more or less.

This was long overdue, out with the old, and in with the new.

I think they've made them better. I'm guessing you didn't play the game at release.

I was unaware of that but I just looked and that does seem to be the case. What about running it in offline mode? Just a thought.

I did play at lelease. Now the game is miles better than it was back then. Doesn't mean they had to completely ruin some planets. Planets that were beautiful and special are now ordinary planets with heat storms.
I hope the planet type I like still exists, but there is a high chance it doesn't exist anymore at all, as it was kind of an anomaly. The planet I showed here with the attached video - I've visited like a thousand planets, never seen the one like this. Found a youtube video, the uploader shared the coordinates. It was a complete fluke.

The good changes, not the bad ones. There is always a good middle ground, which isn't the case here.

And not updating other games? this is absurd. Not to mention, the saves have already been updated, it's too late.

So far I've really liked the graphical updates to planets that I've visited and revisited.

I'm abit worried about logging in.... I have a nice Hell/frozen scape planet, thats got life, and discounnt. with no traders. (took over empty trade base) and water.

Hoping I don't lose it.

I play NMS in offline mode all time, I just unplug ethernet cord.

You can set games to only update on start up. Giving you a chance to check patch notes for major bugs you wanna avoid. Thou once Steam knows theres an update. you can not change install location. (was an issue.. not so much anymore with new SSD I got)

I see that as an opportunity to either discover or enjoy the known planets or go look for even cooler looking planets to make a base on.
KLEMBO Jul 17, 2024 @ 10:24am
I just landed on a planet that said 'Bad Blood' (or something)

I didn't look at the planet type, turned out it was volcanic (Extreme) I think the changes to the previous graphics were very good. Still couldn't see jack s*** when a storm came up, but good anyway.

What's the 'Bad Blood' part?

If I knew this would happen, I would have downloaded the game from somewhere else, copied the files there and would only play the new version for online play with friends.

Absurd? LOL That's a little strong. You wouldn't have to run everything in offline mode. You can switch at will.

The cloud saves have been updated. If you avoid updating the game your local saves would not be updated.
