Works for me. Although it seems the water or something is causing a sort of strange flicker.

just remove -D11 option in steam launcher, and remove force proton 9. let default be chosen and its ok. and config graphical option for dlss or you 'll have some 10 fps... with a 2070 super. X). ( shaders are very long to load, and seems to continue loading during game... some minors visuals bugs)

After NMS 5.0 update, using Linux Mint 21 Xfce with Proton 8.x also resulted in same error as OP: 126243_0x243BC09_ST7656.... which occurs during loading existing save and the "white-screen-of-death" Zendesk msg indicates the app has shutdown.

I changed Proton from 8.x to "experimental" whatever that is. Doing this allowed the existing save to load OK. Game now functions as before--ie., it's working again.

This is fine.

No mention of which GPU, driver or version (here or OP).

(Also, “shutdown” (noun) ≠ “shut down” (verb). You're actually saying that the app is in possession of something called “shutdown”.)

No 60FPS here (or ever). This is still fine.

I had the game crash on loading a save, but when I switched up to Proton 9-0.2, everything worked as intended and smoothly.

I had this happen several times today but on Windows 11. In my case, the issue is intermittent: it works about 50% of the time but crashes with "126243_0x243BC09_ST76561197972801838" otherwise.
