If you started the expedition from the terminal in the space anomaly you can transfer items back to the "primary".
If you started from the new game menu then you can not do that.
Then, when you go to the Anomaly to end the expedition, you can put all the packaged tech into the "tech" section in the Expedition Terminal.
When it pops you back into your main save, your inventory is exactly what it looked like when you left off playing your main save -- minus, of course, all the stuff you brought with you into the expedition.
Go back to the Expedition Terminal and grab all the stuff you just put in there. Think of the Expedition Terminal as a shared stash -- in normal you put stuff in the box for your Expedition character, and in Expedition you put stuff in there for your normal character.
Also remember you can copy your Expedition Multitool, if you liked it, and whatever starship you had, over to your main save, for a couple thousand nanites -- and the reverse is true: I copied my Starborn Runner from my main save into this expedition, making sure I had enough nanites to do it by fully scanning creatures on a few planets. I ain't flyin' no hauler, dangit.
But yes, I can imagine the disappointment in realizing too late that you have to package your tech and put it in the box before you leave the expedition. It should be buildable, but it doesn't look like it is. No biggie to me, because I never use the Minotaur, but I get it.
Holly smokes!
I did not do any Expeditions, yet , but I worried about my future loots/rewards already.
Damn right.
It's a little annoying to have limitations on what you can transfer back from the expo to your primary save, but there's enough space in the Expedition Terminus to bring a fair chunk of stuff, and anything you don't transfer gets converted to units/nanites and then transferred... so you still profit from them.
If you start from a new save there is no need to transfer anything because that save is converted into a normal-mode save (initialising the tutorial quests, etc.) and you keep everything... essentially giving a head start on your play through.
*The liquidator parts currently can't be claimed in the primary save if you launched the expo via the Expedition Terminus, but this is most certainly a bug, and will likely be addressed by the devs in a future patch...
