This seems obvious (binding weapons)
I don't see a means to hotkey the individual weapons. Having to hit "G" all the time to toggle through the list makes no sense. Alternate fire can be hotkeyed as stated in the info in game, but I see no option to hotkey the actual weapons. Is there? I could have sworn this was a thing when playing a few years ago. It seems like an obvious thing that should be allowed.

Looked for info, but all I see are posts and vids explaining how to hotkey other functions. The game does say you have 0-9 for hotkeys. But says nothing about being able to bind weapons to them... that I've seen.

When you're in the Quick Menu selecting which weapon to equip, look just below the weapon for a hint about "Quick Bind".

Not the same question. Not asking how to hotkey different multitools, but the weapons on them. Not having to toggle through "G" to get to the manip, boltcaster, or mining beam.

Thought my reply didn't post, when refreshed it didn't appear. Wrote it again and deleted the other to correct the fact the other post was asking about switching multitools with a keybind.

If the only means is to have multiple multi-tools to have this functionality..... bad idea. You should be able to keybind each weapon instead of having to swap out a million dollar multi-tool. It is a "multi-tool" after all... isn't it.

That's why I only use a Neutron cannon and the Mining Beam and Terrain Editor.
To avoid having to swap through a ton of tools.
Same with my ship, just an Infra-Knife, and a Phase Beam to rebuild my shields.

choose anything on the quick menu and press CNTRL + 1 through to 0

This includes secondaries, ships etc.

He's talking about switching Weapons that are ON THE SAME MULTITOOL.

Problem there is no quickmenu for selecting these individual weapons on your multi-tool.... only the "G" key toggles through them.

Since I ran into problems hitting G to change features especially in combat within the same multi tool, I now always have 2 MT's with hotkey 2 and 4. 2-scanning/mining (pistol version) and 4-Neutron,shields (gun version) and all weapon applicable additions (from sentinel shards, x=upgrades,S-upgrades. This way both MT's only need a medium amount of tech slots.

ALLCAPSING doesn't make it righter.

Quick menu -> Cog Icon -> Change Secondary -> select one and hit CNTRL + 1 through to 0 to assign a number key

All Capsing is how I add EMPHASIS to words, instead of Italics.
Don't take it personally FFS.

HG should just make a weapon wheel smh
2ugly Aug 12, 2024 @ 11:57am
Weapon wheel... same issue. Having to click to open, select and click again. Much easier being able to bind the exact weapon to a button... They give you 0-9 to utilize, but limit what you can bind to them. The most common item anyone has ever bound to hot keys are weapons.

Probably after I accumulate 100mil the thought of having to have more than 1 multi-tool to utilize a function that should be available.... might not be that problematic.

Ah, I get ya know...
No, unfortunately not.
This is why I have multiple multi-tools, I don't like to have to scroll through lots of options during a fight, so I focus on max 1 or 2 weapon types per multi-tool and just switch tool if I want a different one
