I found 2 infinite money glitches in less than 24 hrs
This isn't too terribly practical thanks to creative mode but to think it happened twice...

so you know the "under a rebel star" mission? sometimes it glitches. if you get it to glitch, claim the ship, sell it off and wait for the "under a rebel star" quest blurb to appear in the corner of your screen again. That's when the ship magically respawns, ready to be sold again.
2nd one is faster but requires some prep as you need at least 3 ships. Go to any space station, scrap your ship, and quickly switch to any other ship in the quick menu. You'll get the resources for scrapping the ship without actually losing the ship. You could also use this to get ship components.

I wish someone (a game economics expert) would actually do a full analysis of the game's economy and develop something that is interesting and makes sense.

In the most recent expedition, I have every upgrade I want/need and also $5M dollars which I quickly gained and have no use for. All in the course of maybe 6-8 hours?

I find the trading "mechanic" to be less than interesting/rewarding when money just pours into your pockets from other sources.

what is the point of giving more reasons for it being impractical when creative mode exists? creative mode inherently makes these glitches worthless unless you're a speedrunner or something and there's no topping it since it's the built-in way to get infinite money.
Why play creative mode for anything but building? (which is still redundant if you use the wire glitch as you can create build parts without the resources using this method anyway)

Get the Trade Rocket.
Set up 3 Atmospheric Processors or better yet an Oxy>Gas Extractor>Supply Depot.
Get even a single Chlorine.
Set up[ 2-3 Medium Refiners.
Start expanding Chlorine, w/ Oxygen.
Whenever you fill the Rocket with stacks of Chlorine, fire off the Rocket, then call it again.

Not judging you, but I don't enjoy waiting on refineries, so that sounds really boring and tedious to me.
I prefer killing sentinels and selling the drops... way more fun imo
Also earns nanites, not just units

Also just remembered that the trade rocket does not consider the system's trade rates... so you can just buy the discounted goods at a trade terminal and immediately sell them via the trade rocket (not as good a return as going to the appropriate system to sell them, but it still makes a decent profit)

That's the neat thing: You can set up mines and forget about them for the entire day while you do your own thing, then collect from them at the end of the day and collect your tens or hundreds of millions.

You are referring to extractors, not refineries...
I've found that refineries can be buggy, and contents can be lost if you don't babysit them...

Seriously it's so easy to make millions in this game that any money glitch is more complex than just straight earning. Farm NipNip on your Freigher, farm salvaged ships, etc. It's really not difficult. Once you have a few tens of millions, buy Suspicious Packages from Outlaw Stations, pop em up and sell the resulting tech right away to convert your units to nanites. That's all using legit game mechanics, and rendering the entire economy pointless.

that's just false, the 2nd glitch can get you 35 mil every 10 seconds on top of 5k nanites. gold farms are like 500 mil every 24 hours. it's a bit more hands on but it's way faster.
