P.S. Do not claim the final grand prize yet as that will convert the expedition to a normal save whether you're ready or not.
"Congratulations Traveller. All primary expedition goals complete.
Your save will convert to a standard save if you wish to continue. .... etc"
But there is no way to "continue". There is no continue button or anything. It may just not be possible to complete it and convert to a standard save until the Purged By Fire milestones are completed. It seems a poor design to click through all the completions and lose access to the special rewards you contributed to, so maybe that's why they just prevent completion. I do have the chitin backpack unlock.
Another separate saver here.
Don't know whether it applies elsewhere but when I give the big, fat reward button a poke and exit the options menu with a right-click there's a hint in the corner telling me to use the terminal if I wish to end the expedition prematurely. That's never happened before.
Figured they set it up this way to give everyone a chance to do their part.
I recently bought the game and jumped right into Expedition. So let say if I start a new save will all the things I've done in the Expedition save be transferred to my current new save ?
Thanks in advance.
Each save is separate. So generally you cannot transfer items from one to another. This includes any ships, bases etc. So generally you cannot transfer items from an expedition save into a normal one. However there are some exceptions.
1. If you start a new save in an expedition then that save will convert to a normal one at the end of the expedition: either when the timer runs out, or you have completed all the goals. Be careful with the 'optional' community ones as I do not know if you will be able to claim them if you finish the expedition before they have been completed. Once the save has converted to a normal one you can carry on playing the game on that save as if you have just started a fresh save. However you *will* have all the items you gained from the expedition, including a very nice multi-tool.
2. If you wish you can start an expedition from a terminal in the space anomaly. Now I have not used this but I understand that you can transfer items from your normal save into the expedition and back again. However it is still one save.
3. Any milestone rewards that you have claimed in any expedition will be available from the quicksilver vendor in the space anomaly on any save. So the posters etc in the current expedition should be available via the quicksiver vendor.
4. It may be possible to use a save editor to move stuff between saves, again I have not used one but I understand you can basically give yourself whatever you wish with these.
If you return to your main save before claiming the community rewards, I presume you will have to purchase them from the Quicksilver trader on the Anomaly
For those who started a new save for the expedition... You can end your expedition early like anyone else can by going to the expo terminal on the Anomaly (behind the nexus).
If you don't end it manually, then you will be forced to convert the save to a normal game once the expo concludes. I cant remember exactly what you get to keep in this case, but I think it's the same as if you started from within a save.
2. yes, you can transfer up to 8 stacks of tech modules (or 8 opened modules) as well as 32 item stacks (excluding things like companion eggs, quest items, and such). You can make a single copy of both your multi-tool and starship (whichever ones are equipped at expo end) via the expo terminal for a few thousand nanites each (starships were bugged last expo and allowed infinite copies if you had the space and nanites). You will also keep your bases, but not your freighter.
3. Any special rewards you earn are granted to your account, not your individual save, so they can be activated in all your saves by visiting the QS trader (this is true of all QS items). But the rewards of things like tech modules, exosuit expansion modules, etc. will not be available this way, they exist only to give a boost during the expo itself (though you can transfer to the main save if you really want to, including the expansion modules if you don't use them during the expo)
They only added the terminal with the Omega update, so it wasn't an option in expos before that.
