Performance wise, high fps with everything ultra and DSAA.
I do notice the GPU starting to make more fan noise after landing / loading on a planet with many particles like wind effects, dust, etc going on. But other than that, no frame drop.
I do remember playing NMS in 2016 on my older PC with a GTX 960 and it was around 50-60 fps.
Hmm, I have an aging GTX 1650 laptop with Ryzen 4600H CPU @1080p, I average 47.6 FPS.
Yes sometimes it dips to 26-28 like if I'm flying fast into atmosphere to a planet, but overall performance is pretty good on High settings (nothing Ultra).
What CPU do you have?
But it does work on a 4 cores Ryzen and a 1070 TI
This game is like 9 years old, I promise it doesn't require a modern semi-high-ish GPU.
My oldest system I run it on is 6 years old, it runs on a Ryzen 3 2200G just on the iGPU with 16GB RAM, and I can run at 1080 with a mix of Low, Enhanced, and textures on Ultra and using AMD FSR. It looks amazing and I get 40-60fps with the occasion dump down to 10 or so when I'm very first loading in a planet entering atmosphere or things like that where it is a major load-in for a couple of seconds. Occasionally if the corrupted sentinel battles get huge and my mech is out I will get a few stutters.
So, it depends on your system of course, and I don't think their representation is that far off, especially before the latest update. They might need to tick down the 'all high' a bit, but again, everything is so dependent on your exact config and what fidelity options you use, etc.
I have a lot of games I enjoy, and none of them are this complex / updated and play this well on all of my different devices from old to new. Even some simpler games like Trine don't run as well on my old system. Certainly playable, but more stutters here and there.
A Ryzen 5 3550H.
Hmm, something is wrong then. Maybe your CPU or GPU are throttling for temps?
I use to have i7 10then generation cpu along with 3060ti and ran okay, but had some hickups on high settings. Couple years ago i manage to get a better cpu and did made a difference. So now i am using i9 11th generation cpu at 3.5Ghz, i think it got 8 cores.
So having high end video card and med or lower end cpu, you arent going to get much out of it. So you need to balance things out. Like a muscle car or hotrod, having V8 engine with ♥♥♥♥♥♥ tires is not going to be that great lol.
Btw guys, dont overclock your cpu and/or gpu, only wearing down the hardware life and can burn out quickly than you can imagine. If you dont keep that thing cool, it will overheat and could destroy the piece. Like a nuclear reactor that needed cooling at all times.
you actually think a 4060 is equal to a 1650??
Ridiculous and false. The graphics and engine has gone through several upgrade iterations since 2016.
System Model: ASUS TUF Gaming FX505DT
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3550H with Radeon Vega Mobile Gfx, 2100 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s)
Physical Memory: 16 GB
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650
Display Memory: 4 GB
NMS runs worse with anything else still running so I make sure I have nothing else unnecessary running while playing... browsers, in particular.
No, but I doubt they're worlds apart. They're both at the lower end of their generation's mid range stack and just 5-6 years apart.
Depending on when that was written, it might of been true at the time.
The most recent update improved graphics even further and I suspect that the next part 2 update to Worlds will improve them even more. Raising the minimum specs or rather expected specs.
It happens.
