As far as I understand when you meet Atlas you technically already was in the centre of the galaxy.
So, I ran out of patience and deleted the save. Yesterday I decided to start again. I'm currently a couple hours in and guess what...I can not get progress to continue on the Explore the Anomaly mission. I've already gone past that point once so I know damned well I didn't miss a thing.
Both times my progress stopped in relation to Anomaly missions. I got this game because my friend had it, but hadn't played in a while, and because of all the obviously overzealous reviews.
Based on my experience so far, NMS is a buggy pile of crap that I'm considering deleting from my library. Along with the progression stopping twice, I've been running into a nest of bugs and lost count how many times I've verified file integrity. This game is not what it's cracked up to be.
Yes that explains it all, I wondered if I even had the galactic centre quest at all at one point or was just delusional. Guess I can focus on the chill stuff now. Thanks!
