Pirate Dreadnought vs Venator Capital Ship
Which is better in your opinion?

I have been farming for an S class for a while, and after days of grinding Pirate Deadnought fights, found a Dreadnought S class.
However... I think I liked the Venator more?
I had a B class Venator and I traded out for this S class Dreadnought - however the red lights in this Dreadnought are absolutely killin my eyes.
While the outside of this ship is better, the inside just isn't singing to me.
I'm left with a sour taste as I think I made a mistake.

So for those out there who have had both ships, which was your favorite?
Is one better then the other, or is it just a Cosmetic taste?

EDIT:
I didn't realize there was more then one Dreadnought.
I am talking about the Pirate Dreadnought.

Venator. If only because it's easier to find the docking bay.

I don't object to the dreadnoughts but I picked up an S-class system freighter during the expedition, that's fine also.

Venator, but honestly not very keen on either, I think- the Venator is one of those freighters with a big mast right in front of the docking bay, isn't it? Those are my big nope.

All freighters are just mobile bases with different bits and paints, so pick the one thats the prettiest to you. I personally prefer the venator.

I like my Venator. It's better about poles than the Sentinel one was. I found I wasn't that keen on the Dreadnaught aesthetic once I got on board one.

Yeah that's how I am feeling right now. Really not liking the interior.
It's such a shame because the outside is so pretty, if only I could change the inside lighting colors to not be bleeding-eyes red.

Guess I am going to be grinding out an S Class Venator. Wish me luck.

I keep seeing people talk about a pole or mast in front of the docking bay but I just don't see it. I haven't hit anything going in or out of the ship either.
Maybe it has been updated since then?

they're talking about the two huge poles/antenna right in front of the Landing Bay on the Sentinel Freighters... in this pic, they are the two on the far right...

when you leave the Landing Bay, you will run into them if you fly straight out from Bay 2... from Bays 1 and 3, you can turn right/left as needed but may still run into them...

The docking bay is always where your Capital Ship Marker is. It's always in the center, facing the front, and you can actually see long flat smooth surfaces in front of the docking bays on the pirate dreadnoughts.

I HATE those F#*$&*@(@ing poles. Like seriously, who TF thought putting big poles right next to the docking bay was a great idea?

It'd be like if someone put a radio tower in the center of an aircraft carrier.

It's not just the sentinel freighters that have them, I've gotten non-sentinel freighters that had them too, and good God those are annoying AF.

If I ever end up with a freighter like that as my first, I'll go looking for a dreadnought ASAP. I don't care if it's an S and the dreadnought is a C, those poles are a 100% dealbreaker for me.

I recently found an S class dreadnought in the expedition and already have an S class Venator, small, in the main save. I like that the Venator with the spoiler like rear, is in the background of most things on the space stations, since that is the one I found.
I found somewhere on line the likely hood of getting the different Frieghters even by class.

It is something I have been deciding on if I want to get the Dreadnought in the Main save though. will work with it in the expedition to see if I will like it.
Main thing is if they introduce any more space combat and the freighters really get involved then the Dreadnought would be the strongest for fire power.

I need to correct myself. I have the Pirate Dreadnought, not the Sentinel Dreadnought. I didn't realize there was more then one Capital Ship Dreadnought.

With that in mind, would you still say the Venator?

You guys have any tips for freighter farming? As in, farming for the bulkheads and upgrade bits? Doing derelicts or lucking out and finding crash sites and then lucking out again trying to find freighter bits seems insanely grindy.

Cheers.

Become a pirate.
If you are grinding Salvaged Frigate Modules, pick a system where you are willing to sacrifice your reputation with a faction and go after cargo pods on regular freighters.
Easiest way but you loose reputation fast.

Or just do it in a pirate system, where you won't lose reputation no matter how many civilians you blow up.
