Blood in the Water

EDIT: See posts on page 2. 5.03 patch seems to have prevented Jellyfish and Horrors from triggering this milestone and Alluring Specimens ARE now required.

I did actual alluring specimens. It was kinda annoying, since they were few and far between where I was. I just wound up doing a lot of swimming (no Nautilon). I had aqua jets by then, at least. I tried a couple abyssal horrors, but they did not count. I didn't make a note of where I was, but I don't think it was a very good place anyway.

Try some other planets if you need to, look around.

The Abysmal Horrors do nothing. The alluring specimens are rarer than hen's teeth,
I did go to the hot watery planet.

There used to be those huge fish that would pop out but I haven't seen one of them in a long time.

I have done this Expedition 3 times. Jellyfish worked every time.
Edit: make that 4/4 times.

I realized finally the alluring specimens are the big fish I remembered. from the past and I remembered how to trigger them. found 2 close together, I'll eventually find a third.

I don't know why the jellyfish didn't work for me. I mined resources, they popped out, I killed them and nothing happened. I even made sure there was space in my inventory in case that might be a factor.

strange, I killed one alluring specimen and a few jellyfish and the mission completed...
Maybe you have to kill at least 1 alluring specimen to get the counter going...

In the same planet drop zone 4 occurs, I killed any underwater fauna and it worked. give that a try

pick the glowing bulbs (Hadal Cores) off the "rocks with antenna" when you find them.... sometimes your friend is hiding in them and other times not...

Anyone else ever find one underground and if it spawns a monstrosity that it gets stuck in the rock and no use of the terrain manipulator will free it?

i generally use an AOE weapon to get them when they get stuck like that... works for stuck Sentinels, too...

For the third one, it was also underground. Before spawning it, iirc, I cleared a bit more area with the terrain manipulator and it didn't go far but also didn't clip into the terrain this time.

The people having trouble with this, that the Jellyfish won't do it: Are you killing the Jellyfish with your mining laser, or your MT weapon?

Maybe that's the issue, because it worked for me. I mined rocks until the Jellyfish spawned, swapped to my weapon, and got the milestone instantly on the 3rd Jellyfish I shot.
