Expedition 14 complete. This is the best NMS has ever been
And I know it's just Worlds Part 1. I'm totally engrossed in the next thing this game has to offer. Idk why I've always taken so long to get back to this game after each expansion. I think maybe I was waiting on it to reach this legendary status and I definitely feel it after Worlds.

Excited for the future!

I've just been enjoying shooting monstrosities as that's my favourite Nexus mission to do. I do like the new water effects though, even if it's messed up the colours in a couple of my bases. I liked my weird oceans.

Expedition 14 is not over yet.

A game having time limited content is a scummy move. It's entirely there just to scare players into playing during a set period of time or they'll miss out on content and rewards all to boost the number of active players.

I think there will also be permanent content involving Vile Brood.

But hey, we, players, like expeditions, players of all games that offer them, like events, And yes, events offer unique content. I suppose it is possible to get angry about that, but I imagine it does require a special kind of talent.

Anyway, in NMS, expeditions can be replayed offline, so the content actually does not disappear if you do not want it to disappear, Would you like to learn more?

It's more the use of FOMO in a single player game. Having it time limited with no option for players who missed it to enjoy the content is just demotivating to give the game another try as why bother? You've already missed a ton of content that the devs have arbitrarily decided to not let you replay.

It's less anger and more annoyance at blatant player manipulation. I tend to avoid games from company's that pull this.

I've seen people say you have to manipulate the game data, to alter the game time to enable it, which seems kinda dodgy and a bit of a faff, is that not the case? If it's literally you can access it from the menu but not online that's a tad better, but even always online games are starting to let you play old seasonal content (deep rock galactic)

They re-release them every year around Christmas holidays. And there has been 14 expeditions in 8 years. Lets not act like this is a common thing that has "ruined" the game experience, They are literally mission sets to show off new features added to the game, If you "avoid games from companies that pull this" then I seriously confused on why you grace us with your presence in this chat

Also they typically run for over a month, and can be completed in a few hours to a day or two of casual playing....

They don't sell you anything else beside the base game, you can't really expect people to play without new content for years so those limited time expedition are a good way to keep the big community alive and ensure when someone plays they can see and encounter other people in the game.
Not to mention that complaining about this on steam/PC is silly as we have mods that enable expeditions at anytime.

Nothing but free content for 8 years, devs make some cool new content and give away items. Allow 6 weeks, then repeat over holidays and still folks complain. Some will complain about anything. Just use your save editor or the mod that lets you play them as you please. Problem solved.
