4K BUG, how is no one speaking of this?
Why can I sometimes run this at 4K and other times it ♥♥♥♥♥ the bed?

I've been running 4k without issue for years. Might be that no one is talking about it because it is an individual machine issue. Not trying to be an ass, but I've just not seen any 4k specific issues.

have you tried checking your specs?

Why would I? This game was meant to run on PS4. I played Cyberpunk 2077 2 years ago @ 4K performance. Exact same settings. Wait, no actually Cyberpunk I could play on higher settings @ 4K. To answer your question, no. It's not me, it's Hello Games.

No issues from me, aswell as one other above.

Most assuredly its a user end error somewhere

Check your specs

Also cyberpunk used RedEngine and Hello Games uses their own proprietary game engine afaik not named.

So 2 totally different game comparisons

I've been playing NMS in 4K since I first purchased it in Feb 2021. I can't recall ever having any issues at all, including up thru today when I played earlier.

Not sure what the OP's issue is (it wasn't really described) - but it doesn't seem ubiquitous (thankfully).

Hopefully they can get it solved so it runs well like it does for, well, at least a few of us.

Without your spec list there is really no way for any of us to answer your question OP or even point you in a helpful direction

If it's not you, then why is no one else complaining? Millions of copies out there, and you are the only one complaining...it MUST be the developer.

And to run things on PS4 even in 4k would not be the same as running it 4K on a PC, The fact that you don't know this, means you are not qualified to make the assessment of your systems capability.

Post is useless without specs or other settings being used in-game.

maybe we have the same issue.. can you check your GPU power target % ?
mine gets stuck at like 40-60% power and then show 25-40 fps.
but when alt tab in and out or by random magic it will kind of switch power states and go to 80% power target (my undervolt) with fps back over 120... but worst is it also switches back during gameplay...
13700k/3070ti.

i suspect this a problem in vulkan...
have seen the same in ghost recon and red dead 2. but never got fixed. i even got the new cpu and motherboard and stuff so many year later, still a thing. only constant is the gpu though.

No, people are complaining about 4k in this game, and yes there is at least a few issues.
at 2560x1600 I'll be getting over 60fps, but as soon as I switch over to 4k its a crap shoot if the game will run right. Most of the time it runs at 2-3 fps, but sometimes/rarely it will load correctly and then run at 30-50+ fps. This is after the 5.0 update. I've had to change 2 settings. Before the 5.0 update I only had issues when trying to watch videos in a browser while playing the game.

1. I was forced to turn off HDR, and in windows 11 turn off auto HDR. This was at least causing the game to crash any time I attempted to take a screenshot with f12.

2. I had to drop Tessellation all the way down to enhanced, setting it to standard also works, but any other setting seems to tank the performance. It shouldn't be causing this much of an issue. I've seen other posts talking about tessellation causing fps issues as well. Changing this setting has also removed issues with watching videos in a browser while playing the game.

I mean, post your specs if you want actual help.

Even slightly above 4k has pretty good performance for me. There are dlss/dlaa issues they're still working on. The HDR and screenshot issue is a problem. And there's all sorts of other issues they're working on.

And 4k below at my settlement which is where i get the worse fps that i can recall in the game.

So ya not really seeing a specific 4k res issue here. There's a huge difference going from 2k to 4k. Pretty much need a 4070 Super or above if you use DLAA.

i7 9700K, 2070 Super, 16GB DDRAM, and NMVe PCIe Gen 3 SSD. Keep in mind, NMS is not a next gen game. Not even close. So those specs should run 4K easily with Nvidia DLSS which it does. Sometimes. But it's a crap shoot like Ranmas above states. So yeah, not just me.

Well hopefully they'll fix the dlss/dlaa issues that some are having performance wise. White screen when i alt/tab out of the game and back to it when using fullscreen along with dlss or dlaa is a pita. And my desktop is 2k. Noting this as borderless would put me at 2k. So looks like i play at 2k until that's fixed. Not that 2k is bad. dlss quality and dlaa 2k both look great.
