Try mining some of the underwater resources.

My objective completed from shooting those jellyfish.

It tells me to look for the alluring specimens but none are spawning anywhere

Update:

I found them but the actual monster is stuck inside the terrain and i can't kill it. They all spawn inside the ground

I just went deep into the middle of a planetary ocean and looked for the alluring specimens. I had one glitch in an underwater cave so i just kept looking without going into caves and found all of the ones i needed, though they were a bit spread out from each other.

If you use neutron canon (or I presume geology canon) then the AoE can damage it even if it's under the terrain

When the monstrosities spawn under the terrain, build a wide vertical column with the terrain manipulator, draw the critter to the top, remove the bottom of the column to trap them there, then deleted the rest of the column to set them free.

I was able to spawn 3 of the ugly beasts from a single alluring specimen, because it was in a tight cave , but you might also be able to spawn multiples from an alluring specimen on the surface by building a cave around it with the terrain manipulator.

It's not specifically the monstrosities - I got my kills from the jellyfish that spawn when you use a mining beam on an underwater resource.

Yes, as did lots of us prior to patch 5.03.

Since the Jellyfish patch my friend posted a video on how he best finds them https://youtu.be/49exOF1ekig?si=rWvT_tvD0uLm4iaa
