That last part solved a show stopper because if they ever do multiplayer ships, no one can be stranded if they leave that ship. The other show stopper is what you do in a bigger ship.
The transit times, 30s to 90s, don't really work out well for needing a place to walk around in. Just stopping your ship and wandering around inside does not sound like a killer app that would sell more games.
They are big and have a lot of custom space. It would be cool that you could aim the weapons and move the Freighters manually in the system, but fot me that's it
A tandem, or "ride-together" ship seems like it might be possible with modest effort, but I doubt there is any great groundswell for that, given that it is really pretty much a "solo, but you can come talk to me and look at my stuff" sort of game.
Ok, thank you guys. I'd like to wait and see how it develops before I consider buying it.
now granted you don't fully drive it, just tell what system to fly to, and send your frigates off on missions from it.
i would say maybe a slightly bigger ship then the regular ones you fly, like maybe two or four people could be in.. since you can have a squadron of computer controlled ships follow you, i would think it wouldn't be much harder to put the same people in one ship instead of 4 or 5 different ships. but you also still wouldn't do much IN the ship i don't think.
