What dangers are there in using teleporters?
So I never really explored using teleportation too much. (returning after a long time)

The question is in the title really but specifically in this case if I teleport from an anomaly, to my Overseers Office. Will I be able to get back to the anomaly from the Office. Can I ever get stranded from my Freighter or Starship by using a teleporter.

On one hand I want to do these some missions and use a teleporter rather than warping to do so. On the other hand, I am worried about getting stuck on said planet without a Starship or Freighter.

I haven't really seen some basic instructions on the matter and have so far avoided using teleportation in favour of exploration by warp cores.

After using a teleporter, your ship always spawns next to your character when you reach the destination.

You usually can't directly teleport to the anomaly but you can summon the anomaly everywhere in space.

You can teleport to any of your bases including your freighter and settlement, from any teleporter.

Great. As I started getting into the game more recently. I had a suspicion something like this was the case, however I wasn't going to try before asking.

I use it a lot - especially early in the game when I am trying to gather units or nanites by trading in Outlaw goods - you can find Outlaw space stations and teleport between them, then go to your base then to a regular space station to sell stuff. Never have to get in your ship and never get attacked by pirates in space.

I know of atleast one space station where it reliably dumps you just under the collision for the floor, for you to fall through to your death.
Also, assuming it is still an issue, like most issues with NMS, teleporting onto a rainy planet might cause a small plethora of problems. One is that you take random heavy damage when a storm hits (being inside a building didn't help, and ducking into a starship only resulted in a crash-to-desktop). Afterwards, the graphics get in a broken way whereas your vision gets covered in black boxes.

These are either exceedingly rare or specific to your PC, because this has never happened to me.

I had it happen some time(s) ago on multiple builds. (edit: except the falling-through-floor one is more recent, too).

If you teleport from the anomaly to either a base or your settlement, and provided you don't leave the planet surface, you can use the quick menu to return to the anomaly - which will be in the system you had summoned it to. This only works if you teleport to a planet surface and stay on the surface before returning to the anomaly.

i rarely ever fly anywhere any more... unless i'm looking for a new planet to explore... the huge majority of my traveling is done by teleport... even my trade route stuff where i gather things to sell at Space Stations wanting certain items... i teleport into one, sell highly wanted items, buy items that other places want, and teleport to them to do the same thing there and onward...

i even find my way to new Galaxies by using the teleport on the Anomaly to go visit player and Featured bases in Galaxies i have never been to... once i get there, i find a nice location to claim as a base so i can always come back to explore some more... i've only done the Galaxy center jump once because it was required in an expedition... other than that, i've gone to the Eissentam twice via one of the main story lines and that was in only two of my 15 active save slots...
