Marking a resource location on the Galaxy Map from the Catalogue

I've seen videos where it is possible to, say, look up a resource in the Catalogue (e.g. Uranium) and then receive a waypoint on the Galactic Map to the nearest source of that resource.

I'm on PC and it doesn't seem to be an option in the menus. Please can someone clarify?

If you Click on the Resource in the Catalog, it should offer you an Option to Find it, (Pin to Log or something like that), then when you go to the Galaxy May it should show a System Nearby where that Resource is located.

Thanks for the replies. I have never seen the option "locate substance" appear in my Catalogue. But I will have another go.

ahh, that may explain why it stopped working for me...
I remember being able to do it before, but the option hasn't show up for month now... I thought it was removed with adrift... but it turns out my habit of leaving those quests in my log when I want to find the planet again easily without building a base was a bad move...

Been a while I know, but ... It may be that you "discovered" an item from another direction, such as installing a piece of tech. After putting in the exocraft summoning pack into your exosuit, for example, you "discover" Activate Quartzite, but you need to go to a Purple Star to find some. Until I do, I guess, there is no option for locating it on the exotic items list of the Materials & Items in the Catalogue.
