Galactic map question

From what i know, every time you have an active mission, you can choose "current mission" on the galactic map. I am looking for a star bulb, to find a paradise planet, i click on the star bulb in the menu, the mission activates, but the "current mission" in the galactic map is grayed out as if no mission is active, so i can't pick that. Anyone knows why?

You may have to use the custom mission option for that. Never tried it with a resource, but that is how it works if you pick a system.

do you have indium drive? It's possible that the closest star bulb location is in a system that you cant warp to yet...

Look in your discoveries to see if you have already visited a planet with Star Brambles and teleport back to that system from a space station. If not maybe do a few space station missions to scan flora/fauna/minerals and check out all the planets in the new system that leads to. If no star brambles you will still be earning the rewards, faction standing, units and nanites for scanning things.

No i literally saw a YouTuber doing that. That's why i find it weird. He chose "current mission" after picking the star bulb in the menu and in the galactic map, it showed a small leaf icon next to the system that had star bulbs. I asked him but he didn't know what's wrong.

I will be happy to test this, as I am in need of testers to test the below.

Adding to the mystery.. Custom Waypoint

I was in Galactic map and panned out way (away from core to the fade).. beyond my current warp ability a couple days ago and selected the system and tagged it as waypoint in hope to see the "Custom Waypoint" option highlight as drawn by the "Galactic Map".

This I fear is broken; I only saw it once as it drew the line(s) (with untold jumps), I selected the first of many point of the line and never saw the line(s) again.

I was just wanting to explore the Ai? ability to set my course to just randomly explore, and it failed. Save exit did nothing to restore the custom waypoint.
