NEW WORLDS
At what point will i experience the new world with graphics as seen in the pictures etc? I started a new game and all that seems to have changed from when i last played it is the fact you can now build your own bases. This is great and i will carry on playing however i was expecting different graphics and new creatures.

The two main new things are the clouds are more realistic, which you should probably see on any planet that has clouds. The other main thing is that now water on planets IF they have water (oceans) is much more active and has proper surf sounds. Those are the 2 main 'improvements', but it needs to be said that in the process the game regenerated most worlds, even those without oceans, and many people's old bases are 'messed up' now, also settlements took a hard hit and they had to do repair on that to restore the settlements. They have pretty much adjusted things now, there may still be a hot fix or two, but mostly it is just a matter of finding a world where you can 'enjoy' the new stuff.

Welcome back, if you have questions or issues please feel free to post here, IMHO the best thing about this game is the super active community that plays it. (and also ALL the 'DLC's and updates that have always been free!)

The floating islands planets are semi rare and placed randomly. Finding one takes some time and luck.

The new fauna are also randomly but more common.

Most planets have gotten some degree of graphic enhancement

If you really haven't played since before base-building was a thing...that was a very long time ago! So much has changed since then. I would recommend starting a new save with the Expedition. It will help familiarize you with the way the game plays now and give you a boost in resources and unlocks if you complete it and keep playing it as a normal save. It also has the environments and creature types involved in the path it takes, so you're all but guaranteed to encounter them.

The new planets with the foxgloves are very nice - but I might be prejudiced.:steamhappy:

What happens to your character when you use blackmarket upgrades?
Foxglovez Aug 26, 2024 @ 6:48pm
Mostly they're junk but occasionally you get BiS upgrade modules. They are the only upgrades for hazard protection so need 3 of them for that. fyi the lotto win in hazard protection is 10, 10, 10, 10 for the win. Somewhere to use all those nanites. There's also a very high one for scanning, rare though. Most are trash but they do each give a wiring loom so there is that.

ok cool, thank you. I'll just use them then. Didn't want any bad rep or anything like in SC.

Actually the X-Class modules are variable, they can be as bad as C-Class or even better than S-Class. And in case, if you are wondering they are perfectly legit to use, no one will come after you for doing it, not even the sentinels!

there is no repercussion for equipping X class upgrades...
I presume gambling is illegal in NMS universe and that's why X class is considered blackmarket :steammocking:
As others have said, the stats from X class are random, and can range from the worst to the best... It's only really worth considering them once you have S class upgrades and want to push for max stats (though there isn't really a need to do so)
