Of the environmental hazards, they are the most benign. Getting caught in a meteor shower will definitely add urgency to your steps. Those "bulls eyes" that show on the ground just before they hit are helpful...but also scary.
Yeah.. and it's funny how that first meteor targets the player every time. Heard the PDA announce the shower, then saw I was lit up in a target..... spot. If you stand long enough in one spot.... they seem to target the player.
Wish you could see the storms from inside looking out. Don't know if you can see the nado while looking through a window, but the storms yo can't.
How can you not? And who said it?

just place a part at the edge of your base's build radius and then it will push the boundary out a little... repeat this until you are under the grave and then build up
Lot of people do this so they can add to their settlements for themselves
