You may not have fullfilled the requirements for the mission quest you are at. There are little squares at the front of ea requirment that need to fill in gold. Especially in the tutorials you have to hit escape>log and see what isn't completed, usually some item you have to make. It's all a bit unintuitive.

As for restarting, you need to get quite a distance from your current area where mission is set, go to log and see if it asks if you want to reset mission. Black holes are your friend or even a port to another galaxy through the anomaly.

to reset most missions and quests, you need to move away from that system quite a ways... i'm not sure the exact number of Light Years but i generally say 1000LY... when you are far enough away, a red whirlpool will appear beside the mission in the Log tab... hover over it and hold the button... it will reset to your current area... if you prefer to do it back where you were previously, go back there and reset it again... hopefully this time it will pick a better location for you...

Pretty sure it takes a lot more than 1,000ly... I can do nearly double that in a single jump with my interceptor...
A black hole jump usually does the trick though (which is usually >500,000ly)

However if they are random missions you picked up from a space station, then you wont be able to reset them... if those ones are bugged, the best you can do is abandon them (there is no penalty for doing this)

Which missions appear bugged for you Static_Green?
Some just require you to read the instructions carefully... or to have them actively selected in the mission log to actually progress when you complete the given task.

Hey just because you got a great jump range doesn't mean everyone does.
Some ships can only jump a few hundred light years without tech.
Also my interceptor has over 1200 ly range how can you get close to 2000 ?

I'm not saying it to rub it in, I'm saying to highlight that 1000ly is not nearly far enough to register as too far away for the mission to present the "reset using nearby systems" option...

In terms of how... I have some very nice X class modules... 2 of them give >300ly each and one gives ~290ly... with all my hyperdrive tech clustered together for adjacency bonus, it brings it to 1828ly range with no supercharged slots.

Yeah, no problem at all. Forgot I had a new tech to install after the expo, so my HD range is actually a little more that I thought...

Most missions will have a reset locally option if you're too far away, but there are a couple exceptions, so knowing what you're trying to reset would be necessary if you haven't already figured it out.
