The only way is make a custom ship 'copy' of your ship. Salvage the same looking ship parts from any cheap ship you either buy or find. You might even trade ship parts with a friend. You could also first make a safety back up of your game save and keep that untouched. Then load your save with the desired ship you want to colour a couple of times, to salvage ship parts, each time passing the parts to a friend. When done open your back up save with the original ship intact but you should now be able to take the previously salvaged ship parts back from your friend.
Store the salvaged parts in your suit inventory and visit the ship construction terminal at the back of the space station. When you join together the ship parts (cockpit, engine and wings) you have a choice of colours and textures for the ship parts and can preview the entire ship look, before you commit to building the ship.
The 'copy' of the ship parts is only cosmetic, as the procedural generation controls the final statistics of any new ship and its distribution of supercharge slots and inventory slots. However by choosing the best tech upgrades to create your ship and upgrading it, your new ship will be very similar or better.
If a friend has any Twitch reward ships or any expedition ships some of them may be easily salvaged for parts using a junk save. Claim the rewards at the Anomaly. On a Custom save the tutorial can be skipped to reach the Anomaly faster. The parts simply need to be passed to the exosuit inventory on the save you want to create the ship.
