Adrift - Hypnotic Eye - How to Find

Hey all. So I'm playing through the Adrift expedition, and I've come to a mission where I need to construct a Mind Ark. This Mind Ark requires, as a material, a Hypnotic Eye. I had one earlier one, but can't remember how I got it. Anywho, I sold it not thinking I'd need it. My bad. And now here I am, needing it to build a freaking Mind Ark.

I know the best way to find one is to build a Nautilon, dive into an ocean, and scan for a sunken ruin. There are Abyssal Horrors there, and they have Hypnotic Eyes. There's the catch: You can't upgrade the Nautilon to put a scanner on it. The NPC in the Anomaly isn't there, so you can't get upgrades! :-/

So... fellow Interlopers... How the crap are we supposed to find another Hypnotic Eye?

You can usually see Abyssal Horrors a good distance away in the water. Maybe best to look for one at night. Or use your scanner and look for that red exclamation point.

It's been a while since I completed the expedition, but I think I saw it being sold in some of the abandoned space stations' galactic trade terminal, check there, otherwise you'll probably need to do a few dives in some puddle or ocean, and see if you find a horror.

Same here not run it again, but could swear I was given one for free in my inv. at the start {or in my ship ... one or the other}. I know for a fact I literally never fought a Horror in Adrift the whole time {I did see one though on the second planet} .... and know for sure I never bought one.

As above though I did see them for sale ... seemingly like almost everything else the player might need for the Expedition ... which was stupid and did not feel "Alone" to me. But aye ... could swear we are given one? I just remember storing it in my processor .... as I at first thought "damn, I got rid of it some how now I have to go hunt one" ... then remembered to look in my processor inv lol .... then later saw them for sale and was like "well would not have been that bad lol". Were I incurious i would never have looked at the terminals anyhow ... as I was expecting none for Adrift .... what a let down. But fair to those that make errors ... among whatever other feedback loop BS players might use it for.

I was able to find one at the vendor terminal at the Space Station. Note that I didn't see it at the NEXT space station I visited, so I suspect they're only available in systems with oceans. Thanks for the help, @Here!

you can found it on water rich planets in the deep under water. if you want to find ist faster, use a nautilus by scanning (press x and special scanning for...) for undergrund places. there are every time two of this nice Eyes...

'OP' has already solved this problem himself, and should mark the thread as such.
He managed to find and buy the missing eye on a space station.

And the Nautilus solution you suggest doesn't work, because it's expedition 13, and you can't buy any blueprints for upgrades until you finish the expedition, as 'OP' already explained in the initial post.

The Abandoned Space Stations in every system have them for sale in their Galactic Trade Terminals as a backup.
