How to get to the center fast?

I have the quest to get to center and I have been warping for very long and I am still 700,000 light years away. How do I get there faster I can't even enjoy exploring with that quest still bothering

You could try here for portal codes to galaxy centres. Depending on which one you are in at the moment.

What's the name of the quest? There is not actually a quest to get to the center of the galaxy, just one that says that's what you should do.

If the quest you are on is named "The Purge", although it says to go to the center of the galaxy, what you actually need to do is jump to a new system 16 times total, in your starship. It doesn't even matter what direction you go, only that you do 16 jumps.

After you have completed 16 total jumps, you will advance to the next step of that questline, no matter how far you are from the actual galaxy center.

yeah i noticed those glyph things I was getting from every warp so I think once I get all of those glyphs I will progress

Yep, if you were getting glyphs when you jumped, that is "The Purge". It will indeed progress once you have all 16 glyphs.

How about you make the trip first and then check the distance

Using a portal error doesn't always give the same result, so before you say "do", do it yourself and check all the variations

sometimes you can use the anomoly teleporter to get to someones base at the core

Could you put the name of the mission?

The text says travel to the center, but you only have to make 16 jumps between systems and you'll get all 16 glyphs

And it still works exactly as always. I used that trick several times just in the past week.

Even with a portal error, you get dropped at a 'close match', and you were dead right that it's ~5k LY from the center. I'm not sure if he felt that you meant exactly 5k or just doesn't have a clue when he tried to correct you.

0805:007D:0804:0097 You jump to the center of the galaxy for Euclid
You can keep playing roulette, I prefer the safe jump.

It's not really roulette though. Like I said, when you get a portal error you get dropped at a close match, so it works in any galaxy to get you quite close to the center if you put in all glyph #0.

He didn't say it would get you closer than any other glyph combination, but it is quite close, and it's easy to remember.

The glyph sequence that will get you the closest to the center which works in any galaxy is 100104005005....that's harder to remember.

The most important bit about the method is you can get within a few warps of the actual centre of every galaxy after only learning ONE glyph (so, potentially right at the start of any save, without even leaving your starter planet - with a bit of POI/Traveller Grave RNG luck).
