Interesting - I have been used to seeing the single ship icon (frigate?/freighter?) at a system and thought those represented my frigate fleet. When I took that screenshot I was 50K-60K from center and my freighter, when I checked it, was saying it was over 600K from the core.
I was confused by the new icon also. So cheers. Your Frigs (fake) stay close to where ever you go so if you get a plea for help they'll be in starter class warp distance for you to find.
Would still like to see a key included in the catalog though.
Why not perform the industry standard for icon use and include a legend? Or, the UI standard: tooltips? This game's design decisions and priorities baffle me.
