2. not everyone will be capable of "getting over it"
3. that thing costs nearly $2000 for the full kit, gonna need a 90% discount before it's even close to being worth the money
4. I enjoy the game just fine as is.
5. if there's any need to fiddle with things, or as far as motion controls go, constantly reset their orientation, yea, it sucks(no I've never used that set, and at that price tag, never will, but motion controls are notoriously unreliable)
6. can't speak for that, thought about trying a set in elite dangerous at one point, but there were far too many controls for any controller to handle, and not being able to see the keyboard, meh...
7. VR's price tags are a huge reason to not play in VR, a perfectly serviceable monitor costs $60-$100, a cheap VR set(you know the crappy 480p ones) is looking at $250+
My problems with the galaxy map are:
1. The Galaxy map doesn't show the centre of the galaxy, there's no big light to go towards.
2. Movement in Galaxy map is really slow. A button to move fast would be great, Like in Google Earth VR.
3. Turning around in Galaxy map requires you to select a system first and then you can turn around from that systems axis.
It would be better if you can turn around without selecting a system first, like using grip, as in Google Earth VR.
4. Selecting a system in Galaxy map doesn't show how many planets there are in that system.
Nr.2 is the point that makes it really frustrating. If I can travel around 3000ly, or what ever, it takes forever to get to those lenghts.
So tell me, how do I make it not suck?
1st- I can confirm the big light wont show but you can go to the center nonetheless you can choose to pinpoint the galaxy center or doing it manually
2nd - There's a button to go faster and it goes the same speed in vr and in desktop with my vive wands it's right grip + left trigger.
3rd - Nope you can choose to move freely by pressing the corresponding button and then turning around is grip plus moving the other controller.
4- Well that's weird, that doesn't occur for me which headset you on?
The only reason I play on flatscreen is when I'm tired but there's no other reasons.
We don't need or want to change your mind, if you can only enjoy the game in VR, that's alright.
Suggesting that non VR mode is worthless for everyone is just ludicrous.
VR is more immersive than a flat screen? That is awesome. I would never have guessed
Back again, huh? And still banging the same, tired, old drum
I have the best reason ever not to play in VR. I don't want to.
But you carry on, don't mind me.
I like to be aware of what's going on around me, both inside and outside my house.
Besides, your very first point, in the title, ("not worth it") is refuted by 1,100 hours of gameplay so far, for a cash outlay of $50. That's 4 and a half pennies an hour.
I'd say it's worth four pennies for an hour of play.
How much more would I pay for a VR rig? And a new TV and a rebuilt garage because mine got respectively stolen and burned down while I was immersed in a VR bubble?
We don't have full dive.
You have higher chance of missing things when you're in flatscreen mode, with headphones on your head. Pico and Oculus leave your ears open so you hear what's around you just fine. You also can tap twice on the right side of your headset to activate passthrough and see what's going on.
You need about $25 for Virtual Desktop and then either Pico or Oculus headset. The reason you need Virtual Desktop is because NMS absolutely WILL run at less than maximum framerate in many cases, and gameplay with skipped frames is only comfortable with pico streaming or virtual desktop.
What if I play "in flat screen mode" without headphones? I'm pretty sure I don't have to tap the side of my head twice to see what's going on around me.
