Living Ship Scrapping, How?

Old Days before this last update you could scrap your spare living ships at the ship scrapper and get weird organic parts as the left overs. With this update it says I can't scrap my second living ship. I want to get rid of it so I have room to collect parts to build my own ship but I am not sure how. It is a S class and looks decent I just don't need it. Any help would be appreciated.

Exchange it for a conventional starship and scrap that instead.

I have never had the option of scrapping a LS, perish the thought and that is over the last several years. I have read the current natch potes several times and there is nothing that relates to this issue but thanks for the share. Maybe there is a mod of some kind that would effect that kind of thing? You also have never been able to use the ship upgrade terminal (not sure if that has changed since the patch but probably not). LSs are special.

No. If you want to give a specific starship to a squad member you need to exchange the starship with him before hring him.

I am not sure what you are getting at, read the patch notes it doesn't say much about the scrapping other than now you can target scrap certain ships for building your own version. (Fighter, Explorer, and hauler.) I asked a specific question because I couldn't find it in FAQs or Notes unless I just missed it. But thank you for the link.

You can give the same exact airship (if you have more than one of the same kind) one each to a captain of each faction for a total of 3. Must be done before you hire him for your squad. If you're really tricky and find another ship that looks almost exactly like that one you can have a pretty matchy matchy fleet.

Last time I even wanted to Scrap a LS was many years ago. I never modded my version of NMS though I did go from a Xbox player during the First round to a PC player around the fourth Release of Updates. Never was able to upgrade an LS though you were right there.

Thank you so yea not going to be able to do that. I have a full squad and I don't want to lose any of them.

I think you remember incorrectly. I really don't think that you could ever scrap one.

Anyone looking to trade for a LS, so I can get one to scrap. I am just looking to make a cool Starship and it would be ashame to let this guy go to waste. It is S Class and I have no need for it.

Living Ships are just that, alive. Scrapping one is like scrapping another human or animal, it's just barbaric.

In fairness it could have been one of the very first things they patched out. I've seen things in the experimental sticky that were later removed, never to be spoken of again.
