Help with finding envoys
So, with the new update I somehow only am able to find merchant guild envoys. I haven't found a single Mercenary Guild envoy yet, I have a ton of Pirate Transmitters to turn in and somehow can't find those.

Is there a bug or am I just not looking in the right place for the mercenary envoys?

First one I found was a Mercenary one, second one was a Merchant one. I think it's just RNG being cruel to you in this case. Probably just keep searching ;-)

I'm having the same problem.
I found envoys from the merchant guild and the explorers guild so far, but not the mercenary guild.

Sure wish HG would show what guild is in each system on the star map if you have the economy scanner equipped. That would make this all so much easier.

What type of envoy is on a space station has always been random, so far as I've been able to tell. Since there are only three possibilities, it's pretty easy to get a statistical cluster where you get the same envoy several times in a row. Personally, since the update, I've only gotten Explorer Guild envoys, but I've only visited three stations since then, two Gek ones and one Korvax one.

I'd say just keep system-hopping, if you absolutely must visit one guild envoy or another. You'll get the one you want eventually.

My experience is that envoys are clustered together, I got only explorers in 10-15 close systems. I took a long jump and it switched up. Been pretty consistent after that, some clusters can be smaller tho and you don`t have to jump that far.

I theorized earlier today, in the other thread where someone (as well as myself) has only been finding Mercenary guild reps, that the region you are in may be a big factor in which guild is represented.

In my current save, I saw 18 mercenary guild reps, and no other guilds, all in the same region. The very first system I went to that was in a different region had a Merchant's guild rep instead, making it the very first non-mercenary rep I have seen in this save.

I don't have much data on it yet, so it obviously could just be a coincidence, but you may want to try going to a different region to see if it helps. It worked for me. You can see what the 'region' is for each system when on the starmap.

On the galaxy map, when you select a system it tells you what region it is in. The only way (that I'm aware of) to see where one ends and another begins is to select systems until you find the border.

I am still entirely unsure if region even matters for it, but there are other aspects of the game's Procedural generation that use the region seed, such as derelict freighters, so there is precedent.

I think it's likely region wide. I typically stick to one region until all systems have been visited. Started a new save with the new update and have traveled to 39 systems (same region). They've all been merchant guild, minus a couple pirate systems obviously.

Based on what I have seen so far, region seems to matter. Or at least I haven't seen any contradicting evidence so far. What I did few times is to first check what guild space station has and then warped to neighboring system within the same region. Few times that I tried the guild was same within the region. Might do this still few times, I lost the mercenaries guild and I have lot of things in my inventory to donate to them.

Might have to do some further testing once I have general idea which area has which guild.

Bit lazier way is to jump through a black hole. I have used them much, but last time I tried I ended up in a different region.
Sakura Seigo Mar 31, 2024 @ 6:37am
ok ty for that and yes it matters. exactly when i warp from one region to another then ther is a other guild in the space Station.

I wont lie i have only been finding mercenary guilds and i don't think its a region thing because i have gone to center of universe and gotten 60 percent mercenary at the space stations

I think we should all understand by now that HG has an innate prejudice in their design decisions ... to ALWAYS come down on the side of making you explore MORE!

It is probably tied to the same seeding they use for the Derelict Freighters, where each region of a galaxy will only have 1-3 different named Derelicts populating all the systems in that region.

I haven't tested that theory on my current save, yet.
