VR performance
Hi all, I used to play last year on VR only and it really worked like a charm despite only having a 2070ti, no lag at all, really super fluid on default settings, I was even surprised.
I came back today to try the last update and it's a complete disaster to say the least. I had to put the graphic options to standard to make it barely playable and even there it was horrible, every movement was like some sort of zoom in effect, it's hard to explain, scrolling the menu also gave that "behind a glass" effect, also hard to explain.
Eventually, I got motion sickness after 20 min whereas before I could play for several hours without issue.
So, has something happened between mid last year and now to gow the VR is managed in the game?
Also, an other things, now there are these blue particles around the "walking" cursor. Not only that, now when you teleport you get surrounded by these blue particles for a couple of seconds. I am sure it was not there before because it's annoying as hell. Any way to disable that?
Thanks.

They no longer care about PCVR for their game... They did near the beginning when they first made it compatible for VR, but since gave up on it.

They did patch it very recently on 23 Feb "Updated OpenVR version."

This is unfortunate. Personally I see zero point in playing this game if not on VR as all the fun I got was actually from exploring the world and space in VR, which was really impressive and entertaining, a very chill experience. Everything else is pointless to me if not annoying.

I see that on the 22 Feb fractal update:
VR Improvements
- watching players on our new PSVR2 version has inspired us to add a whole bunch of improvements and new features for VR including wrist interface controls, improved visuals and more.

Well, if that's the improvement I'd call it more self sabotage to be honest. Sad. I guess I'll play something else.

But for me it’s exactly the opposite - with each update the game becomes much smoother and clearer. Video card 3070, 8 GB of video memory. Headset Meta Quest 3, tried VD, SteamLink, Ocilus Airlink - perfect everywhere. I am very pleased with these updates, except for one detail - the red circle around the cursor. It is not clear in what cases it appears and works as an autoclick. Why is it needed and how to turn it off completely?

Odd... I wonder what changes because there is not much difference between a 2070 and a 3070 and apart from my headset being a Valve Index I can't see anything else.
I have no performance issue on other VR games, even Half Life 2 VR mod looks totally awesome and runs like a charm and again, NMS used to work perfect as well some months ago and nothing has changed on my system except driver updates.

Mate, I feel you. The performance on my end is also horrible. A few months ago, it was also running well. Constant 90 FPS on Ultra, (I have 3080 Ti and Ryzen 7 5800X3D). But now I decided to go back to it a few days ago just to chill in this game and then bam, stuttering everywhere, not even lowering everything to lowest fixed anything. My headset is HP Reverb G2.

It's a shame really, I read posts some people even having issues with a 4090.
well, nevermind, it is what it is.

Hey Raf, try something for me if you can that worked for me. Unplug any monitors to your computer (if laptop close your screen as well) and launch NMS for me. It completely fixed the performance. Also, have you updated your VD? Try beta release also.

I'll try to switch it off and see how it goes but you shouldn't have to do that in the first place.
Yes my drivers are always up to date.

Try reducing Terrain tessellation in the graphics settings in NMS and turning off GTAO, set Anti Aliasing - DLSS, and set DLSS Quality - Performance.

Already tried, it made it barely playable but it's still crap and made me sick after a quarter of an hour.

Runs perfectly for me since a few updates ago. Quest 3 with Virtual Desktop, Wifi6 Router, i9-9900K, 3080S, 16GB RAM, all SSD. I am surprised that it suddenly runs perfectly but I am not going to complain!

in my case the performance it's not an issue, Index, 6700XT 12Gb, ryzen 5 5600X, 32Gb ram in an nvme drive, but if i put the textures to ultra or sometimes high it crashes randomly. i get sometimes a really high stutter, but restarting the game fixes it. the rest of the time plays really smooth. this happens since i bought the graphic card, i came from a 2060super months ago. already send the bug reports. Hope VR usser gets a bit more attention, this game in VR is amazing.

Quest 3, like the other guy who uses it and has no issue.
It may be due to the use of Steam VR then.
