Earth?
Is there a planet similar to Earth? And if so, where is it located?

Your best bet is to go on the Reddit r/NMSCoordinateExchange

Just type Earth in the search box and there are a whole load of planets that have a similar vibe for an earthlike planet.

Not really.

There are lush planets with green grass and blue skies, but they are rare. There are desert worlds and artic worlds, but non single world with all three.

This is a space fantasy, not a space sim. You will find lots to complain about if you fail to get the basics that it pure fantasy. It does nod occasionally at real world items or effects but you are going to be disappointed time and time again if you want it be a sim.

There are certainly planets that have the same colors as a lush Earth does, and have similar plants as earth would, maybe even animals if you got lucky... But it's entirely RNG whether that happens or not, it's not something the game actively tries to create.

For example you can find a planet with perfect "earth" colors but then it has really ugly looking alien trees, or lacks water entirely.

It depends, you can find a planet that looks like the Arizona desert, but the whole planet will look like that.

Yeah that's the whole other issue. Earth in real life isn't just a single lush biome with green forests and water - it contains all the habitable biomes we know of, which literally does not occur in NMS.

From years of reading posts on here I think in NMS world an "earth like" planet usually means to most people - blue skies/water, green grass (regular grass, not the alien kind) and no rings. but of course its all up to interpretation.
oh there out there, just have to find them, or search earth like planets

considering that NMS has basically infinite number of planets that are randomly generated, there's a possibility that EXACT copy of earth exists, minus the buildings. just the layout and climate.

doubt you'll ever find one. but why earth? seen it, been there, boring.

I've never seen a reason for it. I find a power source and that's where my base is. I'm on a dead moon this run. Flat, power source (an A). And a crash ship site right there and resets now and them. I get a free ship now without looking every few days. A win, win.

I've even built them on extreme worlds. It does matter to me I'm inside. It's whether it's somewhat flat and a power source. If it has that I build it.

If I find a pretty world great if not it doesn't matter.

The only place I don't build is aggressive sentinel worlds. It's not like they are hard to kill. They just aren't worth having to deal with every time you go back.

Maybe if I found a power source, flat and a pillar that would work. Land, turn them off and you are golden. Hmm. I might go looking might be fun.

Maybe and extreme, aggressive world, power with a pillar. Hmm.

No there isn't.

Planets in NMS are about 1/20th the size of Earth and the way the proc-gen engine creates continents that look like earth continents. Most planets are either have a single large pangea continent or an planet wide archipelago. Seven continents spread over the globe doesn't happen.

Would be fun if they said there was 1 somewhere. With all the planets in every galaxy it would take years to find if ever. 16 galaxies. All those planets. I've said it before has anyone even seen 10% of the worlds in 1 galaxy? Probably not. Find the 1. A needle in a haystack so to speak. Sure, I'll find it one day but..

NMS has x worlds - can't remember the number but its a lot. however they all have one biome. So there are planets that are deserts, arctic, lush etc, but never one that has a lush area, an arctic area, a desert area... etc etc.

As @Darth Cervantes said, many players equate an Earth like to have blue sky, clear water and green foliage. These are not common but do exist and r/NMSCoordinateExchange is your friend here.

There are a lot of youtube vids abput finding them, here's one

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZFw4tFvAHHY

The following one appears to show that paradise planets, so those with no storms or sentinels, depend on your difficulty levels. A paradise planet on Normal, is not a paradise planet on Survival.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pXAFILDN8jU

Since I do not play survival, or with extreme settings in foot combat etc, I do not now how accurate it is.

<Edit>

Well Just checked this and yes the type of planet its sentinels, or lack of *does* depend on your difficulty settings. A Paradise planet on normal turned into a Viridescant with Malicious sentinels on survival.

TL;DR here if you want a nice place to live, play on normal or relaxed.

Stand up, walk to that square that has light coming through it, move the cloth, and there you go, a planet that is very Earth like!
