Can't start Autophage Quest?
Just finished the Purge, already finished Trace of Metal as well, warped to 5 different systems, including Korvax systems, dissonant systems, and other galaxies. Are there any other quests that need to be completed besides those two?

You have to have found a Autophage camp. If you haven't, you'll never trigger the event. If you have pretty much the first warp in your new galaxy, you'll get the quest trigger.

If not, you'll never get it.
You can't even find an autophage camp until you've started the questline, and gotten the technology to put in your multitool and scan for (and 'unhide') a camp. They should get the quest to trigger once they've met the previous quest requirements... Artemis or Atlas, up through Trace of Metal.

It's specifically a Harmonic Camp you need to interact with - the kind found on any dissonant world (except dead worlds) with an Echo Locator obtained from a Dissonance Resonator.

And you also need to be in your spaceship when you warp, not your freighter. A Trace of Metal is not required though.

Have you completed either Artemis or Atlas missions yet? If so, once you warp into a system... you need to hang out for at least a good 10 - 30 seconds for it to pop. You can't just keep warping. I made that mistake initially.

Thanks @gNg - I love it when we use the "correct" terminology - I mean are you and I the only ones that use the Wiki???

Oh and you are 100% correct with your reply - OP, go ahead and mark @gNg's post as your answer

Don't tell anyone, but I had to look up the correct terminology for the Harmonic Resonators on the Wiki.

"Big drilling mirror thingies" was all I could think of :steamfacepalm:

Wait!

You don't have to do A Trace of Metal? Which means you don't need a settlement? Because I'm finally getting around to finding the robots, so in one of my saves I've sworn to grit my teeth and finally finish the $#*@ing Artemis path. I thought I had to do the settlement thing, too, but if I don't, that's very good news. The less directed play that I have to do, the better.

Then it has changed since the last time I did it. I'll trust that you guys know what you're talking about since there's more than one of you saying so. I'll have to give it a try in my new save I'm running.

I got the Autophage quest line by running one mission from the Nexus that sent me to a Dissonant planet.

DUDE - I have the "star systems" page bookmarked - I can never remember what a flippin' "K" or "M star is... ffs

Oh and I also have looked up that exact item, not wanting to misspell the dang thing

@UN / @Mandrake - 100% confirmed, Trace of Metal is no longer required

Here is the requirements:
1: Complete the Artemis Path
2: Visit a HARMONIC camp and UNLOCK it (you will obtain the Buzz lightyear wings)
3: Jump to ANY system with your SHIP
