'Steel Reinforced' being read on some minerals
Have you seen some minerals reading as 'steel reinforced'? I wonder if it's one of my mods or if others are seeing this show up. mining the mineral gives the materials it usually gives

That happened to me a few times during the adrift expedition. It stopped when I went back to my main save.

Yea I have found it too. Minor bug,
Seen it a few times now. I saw it on the planet after the portal quest on Adrift and once on my main save. I wonder if HG have been testing LNF within the game or it might be part of something yet to come?

Yes, I've gotten it several times.
I think it's a bug resulting from interacting with downed freighters. The broken 'doors' you have to shoot open normally say 'Steel Reinforced'. But after interacting with those doors the message seems to later 'stick' onto some minerals where it shouldn't be. Reloading your save or game or etc. typically fixes it.

really annoying.
just installed and started playing...it makes understanding the UI to a new player more than troublesome.

It is very annoying. Even using the scanner, you can't identify the secondary resource. The good news is that it only happens to rocks you have already scanned, it doesn't occur on every rock you have scanned, and you can temporarily correct it by reloading. I have placed a zendesk request. HG tends to focus first on issues that impacts more players, so it would be beneficial if you submit one too.

I've seen it once, a couple of days ago with a patch of Sodium Nitrate crystals.

Half of them said "Steel" and had the related icon on them, but the mining laser handled them exactly the same as the other half of the patch, which were labeled correctly.

I have seen it twice, once today and once right after the update. The first time I accidentally hit the rock with the terrain manipulator rather than the mining beam. The time today, I had started a new save and didn't have the advanced mining laser yet, and the AML was required to mine it.

I don't think it's a bug, though. I think it's going to be related to something new in Part 2 of the Worlds update. Rumor has it that a new type of star system will be added, and my complete speculation is that the steel may be a new resource related to that. If so or if it's some other new thing that's part of Part 2, perhaps it just got implemented a little early, possibly by mistake. I guess we'll see!

Uh? What?
It's 100% a bug.
LOL.
It makes no sense to claim it's not a bug.
Because it literally is how the doors of manufacturing bays are described as.
Steel, reinforced steel.

Which in no way means that such a resource can't be implemented in other ways in the game. I could be wrong; as I said, it's complete speculation on my part. We'll see.
