Is it just me or the Adrift trailer lied to us?
1. When a player approaches a dead traveller in the trailer, we see a crashed ship with vines around it, it was awesome and scary. None of that is in the actual expedition. It's just a standard grave with no special decorations around it.
2. The Iron Vulture starship's engines had a glowing effect in the trailer, but I see none of the glow and don't hear the sound effect in the actual game. Where is the awesome starship we were shown in the trailer?

I really, really hope it's just a bug, because the Starborn runner with similar effects is exactly how it was shown in the trailers and it looks amazing.
anybody? or everybody has glowing engines on the Iron Vulture?

There's a fix in the Experimental build which makes them glow now...

I do feel the trailer was a bit misleading, but not for these issues.

I went into the expedition expecting to "make a pact" with a "ghost frigate." You don't really interact with the ghost frigate meaningfully, you just get it as a milestone reward. You can't even use it during the expedition because your freighter has no navigator to assign frigate missions.

It was really the polar opposite of Leviathan, where the whole expedition centered around tracking down and talking the to living frigate.

The trailer implied you'd use the Iron Vulture during the expedition, but you don't get it until the end. That's pretty standard for expedition ship rewards, though.
I was under the impression the 7GB patch the other day fixed the issues shown in Experimental. But I too still don't see the ship trails and getting in and out of the ship produces no canopy sounds like our other ships do.

You can send out frigate missions and use the ghost frigate by using the fleet control console. No navigator required.

No. It must be you. It did not lie to me. I think it's a good trailer but a little too short. The game notes also hints at the new vulture ship and also ship parts for the game.

yep, I hope they fix it soon. Typical HG, pushing out updates when they're not ready.

yep, these things too. "Iron Vulture will be your only shelter in this new universe" when you can't actually use it during the expedition....

Hey I bet HG'll accept your rig to test everything on first when it's new, to prevent your inconvenience. Just send it in to them. They're in England though, so your post might be a bit pricey to send it first-class in time for the next update.
I haven't used the new ship yet, but I do feel misled by the trailer.

"We are calling it Adrift, and for the first time players can be truly alone in No Man’s Sky. We think it’s a special feeling."

I'm sure it is special, but I didn't experience it here: all they've done is turn off the HUD indicators for bases etc.

Your teleport list is still full of other people's bases; discoveries others make are still there; rendez-vous are still littered with comms balls. And the trolls are still there, building bases around important features.

I appreciate that it's not just a question of flicking a switch, so why bother with this half-baked, half-arsked effort?

Perhaps it's a symptom of HG shifting focus to their new game?

not sure what the sarcasm was about. I'm grateful for the free updates, and I'm not saying they should work more, just not rush the updates like they always do. I'm not the only one who has the missing glow issue, seems like nobody has that glow at all yet, so they KNEW the update wasn't ready when they released it, but they still did. They also didn't need to lie about this starship assisting us during expedition when we only get it once it's over. They build the hype in these trailers and some things turn out not to be true.

probably. I still love this expedition but yes, it is half-baked. I actually saw an NPC in it when I contacted a frigate(standard one) commander when I was leaving it. Seems like that NPC was alive and well, lol, and with full model being displayed and dialogue. Either they forgot or didn't have time\resources to remove them.
The Trailers are always made up, they dont show actual gameplay. But they give the impression to be actual gameplay.
