Easaly recognized by the big lights from the guns from the Pirate ship towards the fleet.
Kinda different form your standard "defend the fleet from pirates" kinda thing :)
This is a step higher in fighting.
I did say such a starship is free of charge did I ? :)
Here is mine (class B). I captured another one in the Omega Expedition (Class C). So I asked for the reward
I'm not so sure about that. I've been reloading (8 attempts so far) to try and spawn something higher than C-class and just destroying the shields doesn't cause surrender. Destroying the frigate guns however, does cause surrender without even going near the shields. Obviously, you must take out the engines 1st.
Guess I got lucky then :)
Ha! Good luck indeed, sir! Enjoy! I'd be very happy to exchange my current A class for a comparable A class dread. I'll just grind away at it. It's only time.
It's pretty much the same battle, but now if you change tactic and take out the warp engines and anti-freighter guns, you get a notification that the Dreadnought has surrendered. You can land and take possession (the same way you claimed a normal freighter) or you can continue to destroy it and claim the usual higher reward - the cargo bulkheads or S class frigate upgrade module. The Pirate combat frigates are available to recruit as soon as the Dreadnought surrenders.
I believe you can land and check out the class/slots and if you don't like it, you can decline, leave the hangar and continue to destroy it (without the escape/civilian destruction time pressure) to claim the usual reward but I haven't had a chance to test that.
Here's where game logic fails... you have them in a "please don't kill us", total surrender position but yet, you cannot scan the ship to determine if you want it. You must still land, exit and visor scan.
How I wish they'd revise that so you could simply scan it from your ship.
managed to nab an "A", haven't seen an "S" yet.
