Painting Pirate Freighter.

Seemed to not work for me... I hesitate to spend another 5000 Nanites to test this, has anyone else been unable to paint their pirate dreadnought? (I tried White).

Considering it's a unique design, the color channels probably aren't hooked up.

Haw I alt f4'ed right away when I saw my red didn't go into effect. Hell naw 5k nanites haha

I mean, the color unlock is permanent and if you ever trade the freighter away for a better normal freighter you'd still have the unlock. It's not like those nanites would have been wasted.

Naw dude on this save file I'm just doing what new players are doing. I have zero plans to persist this save beyond the expedition much like many folks I'd rather play my 6 year saves.

New players for sure would get bodied on that loss.

I am most likely in the absolute minority here, but I actually liked jebblue's ship better than the totally morbid black/red.

Reminds me of warhammer paint jobs from the 80's so I get it. Like that one Dune movie that was supposed to be made with all the exotic painted ships.

I have one and have played with the exterior colors. The two photos below show how to accomplish this. To start, go to the bridge and choose "Customise Appearance."

Also note on the second photo there is a "STRIP" option at the top, which offers different patterns (triangles, etc.) for the colors.

TL; DR: Purchasing the colors doesn't change the ship; you have to go into the "Customize Appearance" menu option to paint it up.

colour works well on pirate dreadnought. And even more, if you fight again the same pirate you got your freighter from, its colour will be the same as your actual set on yours
