Make sure you have the High-Powered Sonar (you need to buy & install it on your Nautilon) and not just the normal scanner you'd use to find oxygen plants, etc.

Are you using the appropriate scanning method too or are you just scan pulsing?
The scan for sunken freighters is in the tools menu (x on the keyboard, on controller I don't know). Then you select the Scanner and then what you want to scan for. It will then hightlight a sunken freighter somewhere on a planet.

Funnily enough... I actually found my first "sunken" freighter ever from my ship, before I even went under water with the nautilon... because it was peeking out of the water.

Glad that I could help! And as long as you hopefully enjoyed the exploration and got SOMETHING out of it, i'd hope it was not QUITE as much of a waste.

Did you do the original Nautilon tutorial/mission? Or are you doing it as part of the Expedition?

The normal "tutorial" for it has you install the scanner and then search for the various objectives with it. A better introduction to it than the expedition, for sure.

tbh i have never used the sub until this expedition lol im still pretty new. and i found one at the start of my journey from my ship aswell but i never checked the log and then found out it was a mission lol rip. found some cool jams on youtube while subbing around lol thanks a bunch, i figured i was either glitched or i was doing something wrong like when a mission is not selected so u cant find no pings lol

Some things are not quite clear or require some playing around with the shiny buttons.

But good to know that you can now continue!

If you ever do a normal save or when you continue after the expedition, there should be a side mission eventually to expand your base that will guide you through alot of things that the expedition just kinda speedruns you through.

Anyway... have save travels in spoice!

i love those! especially when they are waaaaay out with no land nearby... i especially like the ones with the huge wheel nose... i land on them, dive in to get the prizes, and the jetpack up to my ship to count all the goodies before leaving...

it is extremely rare for me to ever use the Nautilion submarine... the main reason being that my efficient underwater jetpack (w/ additional mods/upgrades) seems to move me faster through the water than i can get the sub to actually do... generally speaking, the only time i do build the Nautilion is when i absolutely must use the Radar Scanner to find something specific that only the sub's Radar Scanner can find...
