[ADRIFT] Robotic Lifeforms - It's Alive (GUIDE)
Two options:
1: Wander aimlessly around warping to a bunch of Blue (1) / Red star systems.
-OR-
2: Simply follow the instructions the game gives you.

I'll go with option 2

STEP-BY-STEP
1: Teleport to the STARTING system (2)
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3262222732
2: Leave the station and select the milestone, open your map
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3262223101
3: Here's the planet in the 1st system
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3262223300
4: Once completed, open your map and follow the path
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3262223630
5: Here's the planet in the 2nd system
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3262223796

(1) Don't forget, the game is LYING to you as these robotic fauna are MUCH more likely to spawn in Red star system (ffs)
(2) You have to have this waypoint, otherwise you don't have a Hyper Drive

Thats a cool description.. what was your Hyperdrive Drive Range ?
Did you choose Current Mission or Expedition Route ?

If you touch nothing... it stays on "Current Mission" thus providing the correct path.

Both system are less than 100LY away
1st = 54LY
2nd = 94LY

This advice from Reddit user KingOfAnarchy helped me, I found the robotic fauna on my first try:

"Disregard the mission telling you to look for blue star systems. Disregard wherever the "Current Mission" destination is leading you to.

Robotic creatures can only spawn in unpopulated systems, meaning systems that have no Gek, Vykeen nor Korvax population (Also showing up as "white" stars when filtering for lifeforms.)

With the mission active, the mission log will tell you that it has detected that there are robotic creatures in the current system."

Just did check it ... did work .. perfect :) But in my case the first system is about 350 ly away

And even if your Hyperdrive Range does not fit with that distance .. the route will be displayed ...
So yeah it works !!

Nice and easy way to find them. Thanks, Geldric. I'm just about to start another expedition run and will be using this

No, because Redux versions are not ever run in the same star systems as the original.

For the current redux, I just selected the milestone and then followed the line on the galaxy map for "Current Mission".

It took me to a red star with 2 different planets that had the synthetic lifeforms when I did that. One of the planets in the system had 1, the other had 4. All in one system. All on one planet, if you land on that one first.

I had a blue star 2 hops away & it wouldn't send me anywhere else, so I did it the regular way. Build red drive, hop to red star, mine cadmium, destroy red drive, make green drive, hop to green star ....

Next time, try looting Buried Caches - I always get a small supply of Indium and Emeril from them by the time I've looted 10-20 (plus lots of nanites, upgrade modules, other useful metals etc). Since we have the Personal Refiner MkII, even the smallest amount of Emeril can be refined with Chromatic Metal to repeatedly double itself until you have enough for the drive install.

And yes, even from the start, you can set the mission active and use the follow the path method JE described to find a star system that qualifies:

I believe I was in the Rendezvous 3 system when the path took me to a Red star. Might have been Rendezvous 2.

Meh, I wasn't in a hurry. Never am. The hardest part was deciding which module to sacrifice for the last loom. Since none of them were all that special, it wasn't that difficult to decide. Even then, doing everything the slow 'hard' way, I finished on day 2.

I should also note, I went in naked & deleted the exocraft stations without ever using them.

The best part about this expedition was that I couldn't see comm balls or bases on my radar. I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hate it when there's a bunch of balls that totally take the fun out of the hunt. I don't mind the coord sharing since I still have to do the work (& I can choose not to write them down), but I draw the line with 'help' I can't choose to decline.
