To first find the (blue) system, select the expedition synthetic Milestone so that it is the mission focus. The milestone mission icon (electric symbol) should now be visible on the galactic map and the Current Mission filter on the galactic map, can be selected to display a path to reach that icon.
Make your way to the system with the synthetic milestone icon.
The second step is to find the creatures. Use the Log book menu to now select the 'Exploration Guide' secondary mission as the mission focus. This is a common mission to display all the information about the system and planets that you are currently in. It works similar to the scanner on board the freighter that displays planet information.
With the Exploration Guide mission set, return to your ship in space and read the pop up summary of the guide information, bottom right of screen. This will now show the number of fauna for any planet you are close to.
The advantage of this is that you only need to enter the atmosphere of the planet to see if there are fauna and how many. There is no need to land and get out to check the fauna. A planet with synthetic creatures will uniquely only have 2. Fly from planet to planet and check the creature count information, until you find the planet with two fauna. I think the expedition milestone hints they will be likely found on a barren planet, so fly towards that kind of planet first with the Exploration Guide mission active.
Also note in the Discoveries Page list of systems, at the top, the list can be filtered to blue, green or red systems. That helps display only a handful of blue systems and can help too finding coloured star systems.
Key though is to make use of the Exploration Guide mission to locate the correct planet a lot quicker and of course use the expedition syntehtic milestone mission to find the system to conduct the search in.
The milestone asks for 3 creatures so you will have to set the milestone mission again to find another system and 2 more creatures (only 1 more is needed of course). Travel to any other system and then set the milestone to see the same milestone mission icon marked on the galactic map but in an alternative (hopefully blue) system. If the milestone icon is buggy reload and try again.
Planets with only a single creature are the glitch type anomalous fauna. Planets with 3 or more are usually 'standard' creatures.
Others have given great tips on how to find them once you are in a system. I'll add the following as I didn't see it mentioned:
You'll know as soon as you clear the load screen for a new system, if there are robotic creatures in it, because the tip area at the lower right of the screen will say there are robotic creatures on a nearby planet. If it doesn't say that right after you arrive in the system, there are none in that system.
I just got dumb luck finding the sunken freighter. I landed on a planet for some other purpose, looked around, and there was one sticking out of the water.
Hope things come around for you. Those things ARE out there.

2. For the sunken freighter check if you're in an Inhabited System, one with a space station, no matter if its abandoned. You can build and then delete the Nautilon Bay, so you don't waste resources.
Track the quest, go to the stystem, land on the planet, open your visor, check left side if it says anything about robotic if not, go next planet / repeat

the freighter just use the looptravel tpa player base with name ''water freighter'' or ''sea freighter''. had 3 option basically.
The very first system you get into, the Issiugr System has a blue Star neighbor. That system is called Annivetsb. It has two planets in the system called Yipsona and Voloparv Prime. Each of these planets have 2 Fauna, both robot.
Any planet with a larger ocean can have them. You get the Nautilus from a quest (can remember if that one comes with the Radar Upgrade or not, if it doesn't i believe emergency detectors can be used to get frighter crash sites).
Some people built bases near sunken freighters that also named the base sunken freighter base. Which is the easiest way to do it. And you can, of course, get lucky just flying around an ocean, as the Freighter generally sticks out of the ocean (that is how i did it, i just got lucky)
You can find them via the Signal Booster. Select Scan Distress Frequencies to get a chance to find crashed freighters.
You get all 3 warp drive blue prints from a Expedition step. Phase 2 Admist the Stars rewards the Warp drive blue prints.
Hey, I didn't know that! I've been landing on the flippin' planets all this time!
(Well, I have only got 4000hrs in the game...
