Wire placement issue. Please help!
So, When I place wires it doesn't seem to allow me to place them in any way that doesn't connect directly from power source to powered object.

I am trying to Place wires in a way that they go around the base of the room, instead of through the middle of it, but when I select wire and place.
I can't connect another wire to that wires end, and I can't seem to figure out how to place a multi segmented wire.
I tried nearly every key listed at the top of the screen, when in build mode, but none of them seem to allow me to place a multi segmented wire.

I went to the wiki and youtube, it talks about/shows this green ball that showed the end of the wire, but when placing I don't have that green ball. It only showed the wire being placed as a wire.

I looked up more than one youtube wiring tutorial on youtube, but not one of the 7 I looked at explains how to place a multi segmented wire, such that I can wire around the edge of the room rather than through the middle of it.
A few of them showed people doing it, but with no explanation as to how.

Please help, explain to me how to place those multi segmented wires, so I can actually make my cabling look nice.

It sounds like there's either something wrong with your game or you're doing something wrong. Are you using any mods?

Just to be clear: electric wires can be placed at any angle and [almost] any length and can be segmented around any structure EXCEPT for your starship - if your starship is near it won't let you place stuff anywhere close to it. The wiring segments have glowing green icons where they attach to one another.

I've just tried this, see image below. Just selecting the wire in normal placement mode and could create a linked rectangle, then going up the staircase at the back and into a supply point.

So it does work, if your having issues then save, exit the game, verify your game files, reload and try again.

Your other choice is to buy the wire cloaking device from the Anomaly.

This will do exactly what it says and hide all the wires in your base when your not in build mode.

I have no mods.
I am trying to place them in a Ground base/planet colony.
Is there a key I need to hold to attach a wire to a wire, or maybe something I need to do in build mode?

Restarting didn't fix it, But Validating the files did. Thanks

I've experienced this before. Never figured it out but it eventually fixed itself and started working again. Have you tried switching to free placement mode? Not sure if that would have an effect.

nvm... you got it fixed
