Craft upgrade components?
Hello,

I want to ask if I can somehow (somewhen?) craft all those parts you need to upgrade your tool/suit/ship myself instead of buying them on Space Stations? (parts like Microprocessor, Magnetic Resonator, etc.)

Because atm I need to warp from system to system to check the stations if they have the part I need. It's a little bit annoying, so I was just wondering if I'm doing something wrong :-)

Regards

This is, of course, for upgrades that have blueprints. For proc-gen'd upgrades - the ones that reveal their stats when you install them - you either have to buy them from Stations, get them as rewards from numerous sources, or resort to mods.

Yes, you can learn most crafting components eventually. Previously you had to grind manufacturing facilities for the blueprints, but I believe that HG recently added a terminal to the Anomaly that allows you to purchase them for Salvaged Data like base part blueprints. This will make your life considerably easier, believe me.

The one notable exception is Wiring Looms. They are used in a bunch of starship upgrade techs but must always be purchased from Space Station terminals/vendors.

Oh there are Mods for No Man's Sky. Good to know!

I'm sry, maybe I used the wrong words, I'm not talking about the "modules" but the components you need for them. Best example: "Wiring Loom". Will I be able to craft it myself like the Metal Plating or Carbon tubes? At the moment I can only buy it on Space Station or sometimes as quest reward in the Space Anomaly.

I see, then I have to check the Space Anomaly again. But good to know I can find BP on planets, too. Thanks!

Looked for locked buildings on planets with sentinels guarding them. Blow the door with your ship or multitool and solve the 'riddle' in the building(manufacturing, administration) on planets. Best to go to a gek system as they are more reliable for getting the menu to obtain whichever recipe you are after vs whatever the building wants to give you. I personally have gotten multitool and ship upgrade blueprints instead of the crafting ones at the other races buildings.

Yes, but be mindful that you won't just find them anywhere. You have to systematically search for manufacturing facilities only, the easiest way of which is to trade location data for the appropriate waypoint markers at the cartographer on the SS. Even then, not all manufacturing facilities will offer the interface to learn components/crafting items. Honestly, it's a PITA and now that there's the option to just look them up in the Anomaly, that would be my recommendation lol.

I was able to find it on the Space Anomaly, as you mentioned. It's called "Synthesis Laboratory" I just missed that one the first time. So problem solved!

But I will also keep an eye open for those manufactoring facilities, since "for free" is always better :)

Thanks to everyone for the quick help!

It's sad you can't mark more then one post as solution. I picked Azure Fangs, because you @xace85x mention you might need salvaged data, but all you need it nanite. So it could be misleading for others, I hope you understand what I mean, but you will get a Prize instead, aye? :)

Ah, apologies for that. I haven't actually ever used that terminal since it was introduced (I long ago obtained all available crafting blueprints on my main save using the old, tedious method) and just assumed it would be salvaged data like the other terminal.
