NMS Goals
So, returning after a while, saw the new update which looks interesting.

Just a question, what drives you to play? I don't need to be guided by quests, but I do enjoy personal goals to make me want to open the game. I admit when I left I was a little bored as I couldn't find a goal that excited me enough. Want to come back in now with a goal that will drive me.

If you can await little longer a new expedition(expedition save becomes a normal save once the expedition is concluded) will be running which give you targets and rewards for hitting those targets Expedition 2 beachhead awarded players a Normandy SR 1 frigate(from Mass Effect) or their fleet.!!!...i am desperately desperate to start playing again but i don't want to spend the two/three hours chasing the anomaly as i don't really build bases cause i suck but the game runs you through the process/tutorial of building every.single.time and so i must wait

what drives you to play?

I went on a quest to put a base in all 256 galaxies which was a good idea at first but holy hell THAT was a quest
I downloaded the save editor and played with that for a while, A really nice tool
Then I started to play with mods... building parts that peoples make (or make available FROM the game) are so awesome. Cool but it's even more fun to start merging them with AMUMSS it's like making your own game, starting a new original game after that is like a black and white TV of the 60's compared to a 4K movie.
So far I'm really enjoying tinkering with the game more than playing with it but the parts that I play with it is a heck of a lot more fun

I have claimed, fully repaired, and scrapped 19 ships over the last 12 hours. That is a personal best. I got 5 inventory upgrades from my main ship, about 10K nanites from selling the upgrade modules, and about 30M credits from selling the scrap items.

I really enjoy playing PD , spending no money and only spending nanites at the anomaly for blueprints, If I am feeling ambitious I will also play without using the starter ship or the starter multitool but that can be a slow start finding a crashed ship can take hours.
It does mean that you are weak and so it adds a little more challenge.
I do have lots of time so it works well for me not so good for someone who can only play a couple of hours at a time.

Moving to the center is an ultimate one-galaxy goal for me. On the road I make the game hard enough with my own rules:
1) I do not use nanites at all. Completely ignored.
2) I always make at least one landing on a planet in every system, with a trip on foot there.
3) I do not call my ship to me. Only discovered launch pads are right to leave a planet.
4) I do not learn words at knowledge stones or NPC (only monolithes with 3 stones are appropriate).
5) I do not buy anything at space station or NPC.
6) I do not expand my inventory for units at space station.
7) I do not buy/upgrade ship/multitool/anything.
8) I do not...
I guess you got the point. It's a shame NMS is so arcade even on survival, and I have to create these stupid rules.

Admiring the beautiful scenery while waiting for the update that will finally turn this into a real proper game. 5+ years of waiting and counting. But hey, maybe it will happen this year!

Excellent self-imposed rules.

I'm in the process of obtaining all titles. I just did all the death ones this am... that was fun. I started on Normal mode but quickly switched to Survival, you know to die faster.

Now I'm back on my main save finishing up the Derelict Freighters, phew... 30 total is, um, boring :steamsalty:

Good suggestions here. Getting back in I was still unsure what to do. For now, decided to build a new stasis farm, not done that yet. After that who knows
