While a few flashy-screens remain, the mod does indeed remove several of the worst. Thanks much for pointing this out.
Dang it ... forgot about the Knowledge stones..
I understand the artistic and technical need to have a visual transition, but a dip to black serves the same purpose in most cases, unless you are attempting to convey shock or mental distress such as the effects of a flash bang, or being struck.
Regarding the artistic choice to have flash to white as part of the game, I can also understand the idea that engaging the pulse engine may indeed cause a flash to white, however if that were the case and a blinding migraine inducing white light flashed when that happened, I would find a way to program my cockpit and visor to filter it out, or always drop my light shield on my helmet before initiating the engine, right now I close my eyes for this.
Please replace all the flash to white sequences in the game with a dip to black, or give us the option to do so, because I have enjoyed playing this game since it launched and would really like to stop taking ibuprofen every time I want to play.
The biggest offender of "flash to white" is when pressing F to open the scanner (something we often need to do multiple times per minute), yet it is not included in the option to remove transitions to white. Having previously modded it out, disabling it is truly as simple as changing a value in a text file. It would be nice if they would do it.
I'm also not keen on things like dihydrogen crystals blowing up in my face when I harvest them with the laser.
The game used to be a lot more "Zen". It's as though they hired an FPS-kiddy or Micheal Bay and let them go to town.
