Starborn Runner bugged
So I have recall my Starborn Runner and other ship have come, with "Starborn Runner" name, but is an interceptor ship, and all tech is messed. Went to a space station, sold the bugged Starborn Runner, went to Space Anomaly to get it from quicksilver vendor, and surprise, item is redeemed already and I cant get it back.

OMG

what I do now???

Save Game Editor.

FYI, you can only have one of the cross save ships in your save. If you sell it (even if it was screwed up) the game will not let you get a second.

Further FYI, turn off MP unless you can't enjoy the game without it. Only time I see what you describe is when friends are messing around with the scrap feature at the station or trying to sell/give a copy of their ship to another player.

I am a bit confused, what exactly should I do with save game editor? I never used that.

You can use an editor to edit your save file. I have done this to get ships I could not otherwise get (before they redid some expeditions) and also get the Switch ship. I think the one is used is goat fungus. Do a Google search, it is pretty easy to use, but backup your file before you open and edit it just to be safe.

You basically have two options:
1: Switch one of your existing ships over to be of TYPE: Starborn Runner. Launch the Save Editor, switch to the Ship tab and now select whichever ship you want to become the Starborn Runner.

-- OR --
2: Edit your save files RAW JSON data, which can be scary for some however you should always be making backup copies before making any changes. Anywho... you need to search for this key (without the quotes "RedeemedSeasonRewards". Once located remove this entry, this time with the quotes" "^EXPD_SHIP12", <- if your file has a comma, remove that too.

HOWEVER and this is important, if that entry is the last item in the list (meaning it has NO comma), you MUST remove the comma from the end of the previous item in the list. If not this will 100% break your save file.

To share a ship from an expedition with a friend, I started a new game, played until the anomaly, received a ship, flew to the station, sold the ship. A friend at the same moment bought a ship from an NPC. I don’t remember if we were in a group or just at the same station.

There's no need to use a save editor as ships can be traded from player to player using a middle NPC pilot at a space station. It works in a group and may also work with randoms not in a group.

Find a willing friend who has completed the expedition and can claim the starborn runner. The friend can start a new custom save to skip the tutorial. Both players need to be online with multi play enabled. Then both join up in a group (most reliable to be in a group) or simply meet up separately at an agreed local space station (same portal address) and use an NPC to sell the starborn runner to the NPC pilot. Then you buy the ship back off the NPC before they fly away.

Stay close to the NPC before they fly away with the ship. If they do fly away then at some point they should land again with the ship. Make a back up of your save with the ship to restore the save in case the NPC does not return and then try the whole method again. It's fun when it works. The ship will always be in it's default colours and condition when purchased.

this is true , but from the sound of the topic the Save Editor might be the easier way for them.

Read, the OP's post again.... the bug was their Starborn Runner turning into an interceptor...
(I've had ships transform on rare occasions too, it happens)

did they sell the Runner or the Phoenix?
its not real clear , just says sold the bugged one. you get both from the QS merchant.
regardless the best way for the OP to get another one is Save Editor.
Wotto Apr 14 @ 6:35am
You can reclaim it from expedition i believe and then take it back to main save

Yeah, this is a valid solution to get another one. (Wont work for the Starborn Phoenix though as that isn't isn't available in expos)

What are you talking about?
OP's comment says Starborn Runner four times... including "the bugged Starborn Runner", not that that changes anything in terms of what the bug was...
