NMS is so great at setting all of your keys to do specific things, such as walking forward, scratching your nose with your index finger, looking slightly sideways, and flying your ship in a toroidal path. Not like those silly games that assign one key to going forward. With that said, is there any way of getting out of third person view? How about checking your inventory? Or finding out what you need to repair and item? Do I need to use capital letters or lowercase? If I knew I needed three keyboards to play this, I wouldn't have bought it!

Wrong forum, wrong attitude- assuming you are being sarcastic. X menu with a few pushes to the right? I think. You can switch between first person and third person. The game was designed for first person with third person added later. Never use third person, but I started with the game back in 2016. Third person view just feels wrong.

i play with a controller and rarely, if ever, touch the keyboard... check the quick menu's gear submenu... while there hovering over the "switch camera view" note that you can set a key for it...

i generally set this toggle with CTRL-0 (zero) and then use '0' (zero) by itself to toggle between 1st and 3rd person views... you have to set this for walking, flying, and exocraft as each has a separate view...

X for the Quick Menu, Tab to check your inventories and mouse over a damaged item to see what you need to repair it. Anything else you're not sure about, look at the key bindings on your Options tab. Press Esc to find that.

Pretty simple really.

You can shortcut to your numpad (press Ctrl + numpad key 0 to 8) everything that is in the quick menu (press x), then use by pressing said numpad key.
