Pirate Dreadnought destruction doesn't give me rewards.

From what i've been told, whenever you manage to defeat the pirate dreadnought in a space battle, and you haven't boarded it before you destroyed it, and if the civilian freighter is still alive, you should be getting a reward. Something along the lines of bulkheads or an S tier freighter upgrade. I've destroyed multiple dreadnoughts now, with the civilians intact (spare for the shield, cause i just can't seem to manage to balance all the fighters, torpedo's and the constantly firing lazers), and the game tells me that i've gotten a substantial reward via the log notification in the bottom right. But I see no new rewards pop up the way they usually do and no new item in any of my inventories. I'm also not getting a call from the freighter like you do in what is essentially the tutorial space battle, where you earn your first freighter for free.

My question: Is there something i'm missing? The dreadnought surrenders, I blow it up without even boarding it. Often times the civvie shield is down, but she's still flying. Is it a bug? And if so, is there something I can do to fix it?

Double check all inventories. I had the S-tier upgrades going to my exosuit inventory for some reason.

Zero mods. Didn't even entertain the thought of the possibility of there being mods.

I did check all inventories. And with 3 destructions under my belt I assume that at some point I would've found at least one.

An additional question, though. Do you have to get a call from the freighter you just saved? Because when I was playing the latest expedition, it took me three tries to get the rewards to work. I didn't get the call to come on board, I didn't get the waypoint to the relevant freighter, when I landed anyway I didn't get the dialogue and when i left I was told the qeust location (so the freighter I saved) was in another system. After a few tries I did get that to work. But no such luck on this one so far. This has happened over multiple playsessions.

No, the guy you saved doesn't call you. The rewards are automatic upon pirate destruction. It should be a few hundred nanites, ~700,000 units and an S type freighter module. Maybe the fight is going too long, or some weird quirk like that. I have my ship max upgraded and all weapon upgrades are supercharged. The fight still usually takes me 2-3 minutes.

I recently got the same problem few times. Never had this before. It started after latest update. At the specific system, probably in 50% cases I do not get any rewards from defeating pirate dread. The moment you destroy it - try to stay nearby and do not pulse anywhere. May help.

I just tried again and even managed to keep the civvie's shields intact. I don't think I'm taking too long as my ship is pretty decked out too. I'd say 2-3 minutes is a fair estimate. I've only seen GenSec's message after i had already left, so I guess I'll try that next time

Update: Destroyed one again, this time the civvie shield did fail, but the freighter itself did survive. I hung around close enough to get nudged by the dreadnought debris, but still nothing.

I've been experiencing this since the last patch. About every third Dreadnaught defeat is giving me a reward. Same for the capital ship.

I have destroyed many, many pirate dreadnaughts and I think I've gotten one every 4-5 ish since the ep12 update? also can't board to scan them it appears.

Enter the freighter and demand tribute (Also, if you select "Seize the freighter" and COMPARE it to your freighter, you can take their inventory, which is usually Gold SIlver and a couple of other things), and then back out of that, and Demand Tribute, and you'll get a TON of Units.

All correct but we're talking about the freighter "Technology" upgrades (in addition to the credits) that used to drop when we would destroy a pirate no longer being given to the player.

I'm having same problem since Omega update - consistently get small amount of money/nanites (700K/+-750) on initial victory over pirate dreadnought then get NOTHING for destroying. Haven't seen cargo bulkheads or freighter tech as a reward since the update. No mods, quickly destroying (shoot out warp engines, then kill all freighter cannons, then they give up). Taking the bounty just provides about 6M units, *yawn*, more of the easiest thing to earn in the game...

I notice that all of us probably play the PC version of the game (based on Steam login)

I always get an S-Class Freighter Upgrade Mod whenever I destroy a Dreadnought. Said mod usually appears in the Starship inventory unless it's full then it goes to Exosuit. Make sure you're not full of inventory.

Are you SURE that you completely destroyed it? Because nowadays, the battle ends when you destroy all the fuel rods, the captain gives up and wants to surrender but you have to keep shooting until the dreadnought blows up.

I've been wondering about this. I got my 3 bulkheads once, but since then, nothing. I've been landing on them trying to find an S class tho, I thought that might be a factor.
