Is it worth repairing a multi tool to just scrap it?

The scrap value scales with the number of useable slots, but I would generally not recommend to repair any slots for just scrapping the tool. Also, the prices scale differently for different tool types, end tend to be very low compared to the effort for gathering repair materials.

If multitool is not S class with 4 good supercharged cells positions - scrap it.

There many NPC that will give you multitools during conversation. But you can have only 6 multitools. So good idea to have only 2-3 specialised multitools - for example: Scanner multitool, Neutron gun multitool (190k damage) and Geo gun multitool (170k splash damage).
